      Advantages

      Disadvantages

An affordable treat for mums to be but also a nice relaxing bath milk.

I am at that stage in pregnancy where I really appreciate a good soak in the bath. When I saw that this product was on special offer in Boots ie buy one get one free I decide to try it out. I have heard olive oil is good for the skin but didn't much fancy rubbing it into my bump so this seemed a good option!

It comes in a good sized 500ml bottle which is plastic so not too heavy with a flip top lid. The consistency is nice as it is creamy so it is easy to control how much you pour into the bath. Too thick results in me adding too much and I dislike bath cream that takes ages to come out of the bottle. It provides a good amount of bubbles if you pour it in whilst the taps are running. These bubbles also last for quite a while once you are in the bath.

The best thing about this product in my opinion is the smell. As it contains neroli and mandarin oil it has a very pleasant citrus smell which I find very relaxing. Even if not pregnant this would be a nice product to use after a stressful day.

During my first trimeter I suffered badly from the dreaded morning sickness and found strong perfume made it worse. The packaging does state that the fragrance is 100% natural and I have found that it did not trigger a fresh bout of sickness unlike some artifical perfumes. The additional bonus is that my husband also likes the smell of this too as some of my other bath cream are a bit too floral for him. The disadvantage of having him use it is balanced by the reduction of clutter in the bathroom as baby products start to take over space there.

The product does claim to be skin softening as it contains milk extract and organic olive oil however although it doesn't dry out my skin I can't say that it has made it significantly softer. I still use cream over bump, boobs and bottom to try to avoid stretch marks. To be fair I also like to soak for a long time in the bath which can give the prune effect so it would have to be very creamy to conteract against that.

Overall I am happy with this purchase especially as it was bought on offer. It is currently avaialble for £3.05. I would buy it again for the fragrance to have a relaxing bubble bath. I believe that it represents good value for money and a small treat if you are watching the pennies. As part of Boots maternity range Advantagge card holders also benefit from additional points if they are members of Boots parenting club. A good product even if not pregnant.

        Disadvantages

A fantastic product - very moisturising and relaxing :) highly recommended!

Boots Mediterranean Maternity Nourishing Bath Milk

Before you jump to conclusions, no I am not pregnant, I bought this product online as it is stated to be really good for extra dry skin. I also bought this product as it was inexpensive so I thought I would try it out. It is a bath milk, so it is not like a bubble bath - and it is supposed to be more moisturising, which is great for people with dry skin.

        *About the product*

The bath milk comes in a clear see though container - which has a screw top lid. There is only one size of container for this product and it contains 500ml or 16.9 us fl oz of bath milk. This product is dermatologically tested, the fragrance is 100% natural and it does contain some natural ingredients but the majority are not.

*What Boots say about the product*

"Use Boots Mediterranean Olive, Milk, Neroli Skin Soothing Milk during pregnancy to smooth, condition and moisturise extra dry skin, while massaging to help minimise the risk of stretch marks. Capture the essence of the Mediterranean using this special blend of wholesome ingredients expertly chosen to produce a nourishing and indulgent recipe." Boots uk site

        *Main natural ingredients*

        - Milk extract: contains skin soothing properties

        - Organic olive oil: due to its moisturising properties

        - Neroli oil: to calm the skin

        - Mandarin oil: to refresh the skin

*Packaging and the appearance of the product*

I like the packaging of this product, firstly the container is clear/see though. That means that you can obviously see how much product you have left. The text on the front and the back of the bottle, such as the directions and ingredients list, is really easy to read. The packaging is fairly simple and clear, and the bottle is easy to hold in one hand.

The bath milk itself, in the bottle, is creamy/off white in colour and in the bottle the milk is not very thick and it is not too runny. And overall it looks like a nice product to use.

        *Scent*

The scent in the bottle is really nice, I can definitely smell the olive which is quite strong. Although I have no idea what the neroli oil smells like on its own - although the olive scent is cut though with a sharper scent which smells to me like a hint of the mandarin oil. Overall, the scent is really nice, it is not something I would usually use as I like really floral scents but it smells nice.

        *How to use the product*

To use, you just pour the milk under warm running water, and as this is a bath milk so it will not create bubbles like a bubble bath liquid would. It does create a small amount of bubbles but hardly any when compared to a bubble bath liquid (such as radox). It says on the back of the bottle to use a generous amount of the product for each bath - I did not use lots of the bath milk as I did not think I needed to use a generous amount.

*Using the product - as a bath product*

I used this as directed and I used about 1/8 of the bath milk in the container - so I used about 63ml for one bath so you could get eight baths out of one bottle (if you used about 63ml each time). When I poured the bath milk under the running water the amount I poured in felt like a lot as it did say to use a generous amount, but you don't really need that much bath milk. In my opinion your don't really need to use a lot as, the bath milk disperses through out the water quickly and easily and also the bath milk is really moisturising even when you only use a small amount.

I poured the bath milk into the running water and the water did not really change colour that much, the water just turned a cloudy colour, similar to the colour of the milk in the bottle. There were not a lot of bubbles either- there were a few but not a lot - as it is a bath milk not a bubble bath liquid.

I found that the scent of the milk, especially when pouring it under the running water, was fairly strong. The scent is really nice and it smells natural, fresh and mainly of olives to me - and you can smell the bath milk scent when it is mixed with the water, although it is definitely not as strong as the product is when it is in the bottle.

        *Results*

After using this product in the bath I found that afterwards my skin was really smooth, soft and moisturised. This product is stated to soothe, condition and moisturise the skin and for me it definitely works! My skin is incredibly smooth and moisturised after using this bath milk.

I find that sometimes on my arms (tricep area mainly) I get little bumps which I usually have to use a body scrub to get rid of. But this bath milk got rid of the little bumps I get on my arms instantly! It is a very moisturising, smoothing and nourishing bath milk and it works fantastically for my extra dry (and slightly sensitive) skin. The only downside to this product, in terms of the results, is that the really nice fresh olive scent does not transfer to my skin at all, which is a bit disappointing, but other than that it is great!

*Using the product as a shower gel/body wash*

I have used this bath milk as a shower gel/body wash twice now and it works fantastically well as a shower gel. I just pour a small amount into a bath puff and then massage in small circular motions on my skin and this product lathers up really quickly and easily. It lathers up instantly and it does create a lot of bubbles - it creates loads more bubbles/lather than when I use it in the bath, under running water.

I find that when I use this product as a shower gel/body wash that it creates lots more lather and bubbles, but the scent still does not transfer to my skin at all, which is a bit disappointing as it is a really nice scent - which is really strong in the bottle, but not when it is in the water.

As a shower gel/body wash it works really well, it is quicker and easier to use and it lather up instantly. It cleanses my skin really well and again like when I use it as a bath milk, it gets rid of the little bumps I get on my arms too. This product moisturises, smoothes and softens my skin instantly - it is great for my extra dry skin.

        *Overall*

The day after I use this product I find that my skin is still incredibly smooth, soft and moisturised. The little bumps I get on my upper arms are still gone and do not really re-appear until I use this product again. I find that it keep my skin smooth, soft and moisturised for a day or two, until I use this product again. I also do not have to use any moisturiser after using this product as it is so moisturising - although I do have to use hand cream sometimes and a little bit of moisturiser on my elbows as they are very dry.

        *Price and availability*

I bought this product from boots.com, as I have not seen it in store, and you can have your products that you have ordered online to be delivered to a boots store for free - or it is just under £3 for delivery. This product cost me £3.05, which is a great price in my opinion as it will last a while.

I have used about a quarter of this product (or just less than a quarter) and I have used it for three showers and a bath - so it is definitely worth the money. This product is a 'boots own' product - it is not a brand, so as far as I am aware you can only buy this product on boots.com - I am not sure if it is sold in stores.

        Conclusions

        Positive points

        *Cheap - £3.05
        *Nice scent
        *Very moisturising
*Makes me skin really smooth, soft and moisturised
        *Nice packaging
*Really great as a shower gel/body wash - it lathers really well
*You get some boots points for buying this product (or you could pay for this product with your points) and you could probably re-use the bottle
*I do not have to use a body moisturiser after using this product (except for a small amount on my hands and elbows)

        Negative points

*Scent did not transfer to my skin at all

*Overall - would I recommend this product*

I would definitely recommend this product as it is amazing! It is fantastic for my extra dry skin and it can be used as a bath milk or as a shower gel/body wash that lathers up instantly. It is incredibly moisturising and it leaves my skin super smooth and soft. The only negative points is that it may not be available in stores and the scent does not transfer to my skin at all.

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

          Gorgeous, relaxing bath milk.

I've used my pregnancy as a great excuse to treat myself to a few new pampering treats for my bathroom - there's so much they tell you not to do/eat etc in pregnancy that it's nice to treat yourself to a few little extras for what you can do. And bathing has certainly become something that I like to do a lot of to relax and aid my aches and pains!

I found the Boots Mediterranean range for mums to be with the baby section in my local Boots store. There are a few mum-to-be products they offer (together with some distinctly less glamorous medicinal type things) so I decided to have a browse and I came across this bath milk.

          THE PRODUCT

The bath milk is in a clear, round plastic bottle with a screw cap that is removed to pour the liquid. The label has the words 'Olive Milk Neroli' in simple lettering and the bath milk can be seen through the bottle - a rich creamy texture, white in colour. It looks simple and natural, which is appealing to me.

The Bath milk prices at £3.05 for 500ml, which I think is great value. What's more is that when I bought my bottle (and at various points since too!) there was an offer of buy one get one free on these products. The range offers other products such as maternity wonderbalm that you can mix and match with, but I chose two bottles of the bath milk. £3.05 for two 500ml bottles really did represent great value - and advantage card points too, bonus!

The bath milk is described as being 'soothing milk during pregnancy to smooth, condition and moisturise extra dry skin' as well as helping to prevent the appearance of stretch marks. The bath milk contains milk extract to soothe the skin, organic olive oil to moisturise, neroli oil which is calming and also mandarin oil. You simply pour the product under running water as you run your bath and it will foam up.

          MY EXPERIENCE

I loved the fact that this product contained ingredients that were different to the usual bath foams and creams that I use and also that it is made specifically with pregnant ladies in mind. I found that the bath foamed up really easily when poured under the running tap, hardly any of the product was actually needed to produce a large amount of bubbles.

The smell of the bath milk was really subtle but refreshing, not very fruity as I had hoped it may be due to the addition of the mandarin oil, but definitely a Mediterranean fragrance (I suspect this is the olive oil). The soft scent really fills your bathroom and is instantly relaxing. The bath water itself felt really soft and moisturising too. I love just lying in the bath when it is filled with this as it leaves me feeling relaxed and allows me to unwind, as well as leaving my skin feeling soft and smooth. The fragrance is not strong enough to last on your skin however, and disappears from the room as soon as the bath water has.

Although my skin feels soft and moisturised after I have bathed in this, I still use a moisturising product on my skin, so I couldn't comment on the effects of this on stretch marks. I haven't got any but I wouldn't attribute this to any one product!

This bath milk feels really luxurious and pampering, which is just what I need to relax and soothe me at the end of the day. It's also such good value that I think I may continue to use even when I am no longer pregnant. I would definitely recommend this to any pregnant lady to treat herself with.

            Advantages

            Disadvantages

Spoil someone you know with this bath milk

During my pregnancy, my friend bought me a bottle of this bath milk as a pampering treat. She gave it to me towards the end of the pregnancy so I continued using it afterwards as it claims to soothe, condition and moisturise extra dry and stretched skin.

            Nice and bubbly
A cap full of the bath milk added to running water produces a satisfying amount of bubbles and fills the bathroom with a wonderful aroma. It's a light floral fragrance that just refreshes and revives but it doesn't particularly perfume the skin so it would be good for anyone still suffering from the nausea that can accompany pregnancy when you smell certain aromas.

            Price
At full price, this product retails in boots for just over £3.00 for a 500ml bottle. This is excellent value for money and the bottle will last for months if you don't get too carried away when adding to the bath.

            Recommended?
I would recommend this either as a personal purchase if you're pregnant or especially as a thoughtful gift to someone you know who is pregnant. If your partner's expecting it's a great way of showing her that you are thinking of her and care as there is so much you cannot eat or do when pregnant but there's one thing for sure: a bath is OK and will relax those ladies with bumps.

            Final word
I thought this was a lovely gesture and it's good to remember the mums amongst all the baby shower gifts. I enjoyed using this product and was quite sad when it finally ran out but then I really enjoyed being pregnant so perhaps it accompanied the novelty of this condition. Make the pregnant women in your life feel special with this lovely bath milk from boots.

              Advantages

              Disadvantages

              A nice product

Having suggested the Boots Mediterranean Maternity Nourishing Bath Milk some time ago, it has only recently been added as a Dooyoo product. The bath milk is something that anyone can use if wanted to give a nice relaxing bath, but can also be used for expectant mums who need a bit of pampering too.

Having tried a number of products from this range ( products agreed so reviews to follow at some point) I have to say that what I like about it is the light natural aroma that the bath milk gives off. Even when I first had a cheeky sniff of it in store, I was very taken by the scent of it and having used it I can say that I wasn't let down at all.

              **********************************************************
The Boots Mediterranean Maternity Nourishing Bath Milk is part of a wider range of products and as such the packing and branding is in the same style to give a nice matched effect that looks pleasing when all your lotions and potions are lined up ready for use. Its simple but it works and sometimes less is more with these things to my mind.

This product comes in a simple clear toned plastic bottle and when I bought mine I got a whopping 500mls of bath milk for £2.99. That worked out as around 60p per 100mls of yummy bath milk, which when compared to Lush or Body Shops similar products, it certainly puts them to shame. I have noticed that this is on an offer right now and fully intend to stock up as its now BOGOF ! Which means I will be able to purchase 1000mls for £2.99/ or 30p per 100mls. Fantastic value to my mind!

              **********************************************************
The overwhelming feel of the product when its run under a softly flowing hot bath tap is lightly foamy but creamy. The frothy bubbles are light and airy and the aroma that rises up from the water is very light and clean with hints of creamy olive, citrusy mandarin and neroli (another citrusy based oil similar to bergamot) which I really like. The texture of the bath milk if you touch it prior to adding it to water is creamy and not too runny.

This is normally a good indicator of how much product you might need to use to get a nice lightly foamy and creamy bath going. I have found this bath milk can be added lightly for a refreshing base when you want to actually wash using complimentary products, but can also be used more generously for a fantastic moisturising soak when you want a more luxurious and relaxing feel.

              **********************************************************
The Boots Mediterranean Maternity Nourishing Bath Milk contains, Neroli, Olive oil/ extract, Mandarin and Milk amongst its main ingredients. The addition of the olive oil is to ensure that tight pregnancy bumps are fully moisturised to stop itching and tightness afterwards. I have found that this works really well to give a soft and smooth effect after drying my skin and as such would recommend it for anybody to use, not just expectant mums.

To rate the product is rather easy, having bought this and liked it I would recommend it. As its on offer, now would certainly be a great time to buy and as mentioned earlier I will be buying a couple of bottles to put away as I really like this product. Over all the mix of ingredients is nice and the scent is light and comforting. With all this in mind the Boots Mediterranean Maternity Nourishing Bath Milk gets a 4 star rating.
