“ Brand: Bestman / Type: Pregnancy Aids „
I bought this doppler with gel brand new when I was pregnant with my first son and then used it again when I was pregnant with my second little boy.
It's incredibly reassuring for any mum-to-be, whether you're a first timer or an old hand, to hear your baby's heartbeat. Scans provided on the NHS are great, but a doppler is extremely useful for those weeks in between when you can't feel your baby move, but haven't got another scan for ages!
Both times I started using my doppler at about 14 weeks and could find my baby's heartbeat pretty easily, though I know that some people can find a heartbeat long before this.
The digital display means that you can see the rate of your baby's heartbeat on the screen and it's also easy to distinguish between your own heartbeat and your baby's. You need to use ultrasound gel for the doppler to work, but this can be bought fairly cheaply on the internet.
It was also lovely to be able to let my husband hear the baby's heartbeat during those early pregnancy weeks because he generally wasn't at my midwife appointments, so it was a lovely way for him to be involved and feel part of the excitement.
I found the BF500 Fetal doppler on ebay for a very reasonable price of £45.00.I bought it straight away and couldn't wait for it to arrive in the post.
I am one of those mothers who worry all the time. And of course, I was the same when I was pregnant. I felt like I needed something to reassure me and to comfort me throughout my pregnancy. This just did the trick.
The doppler arrived when I was about 10 weeks along and surprise to me was able to find the heartbeat straight away. I had had a couple of scans before hand, but it was still very reassuring to hear.
The doppler is slightly larger than an average adults hand I would say which is great for storing. It comes with a little box and a cover with a battery charger. Obviously I got mine second hand so it may have been slightly different.
You do need a bottle of doppler gel to enable the frequency to run through smoothly through your stomach, although I have heard of a few people using other substances such as KY Jelly. I used doppler gel so canot comment on any others.
The doppler is very easy to use, just switch it on, apply gel to the probe and push it firmly onto your belly. Finding the right place can be tricky and you may need to manouvre around a bit before you get the right place. The little babies are very active too so you may find it jumps about a bit. If you struggle, you could probably take it with you to your next midwife appointment and ask her to show you. Although she will probably have one very similar to it.
Sometimes it took me a while to get the right place, which in turn, did make me worry a bit. Although I knew there would be times where it would be a bit tricky, It did still make me worry.
Obviously if you're not a professional and you are worried about anything, you need to speak to your midwife.
I did alot of research into how safe dopplers were and was reassured by a number of proffesionals claiming that they were completely safe. The baby can hear the doppler sounds which is why it may make hem jump a bit. Obviously we cannot guess whether they dislike it or not so I always made sure I only used it every now and then.
Just little tip, record your baby's heartbeat. It's lovely to look back on it when they're older. HAve fun!
This product is fantastic, it allows you to listen to your babies heartbeat through the different stages of your pregancy and shows you how fast or slow the babies heartbeat is going by it being displayed on the screen.
It is a very high quality monitor used by physicians and they have done for the last 30 years or so, it can detect the babies heartbeat as early as 10-12 weeks old in to the pregancy. It is a very light piece of machinery and is portable so its easy to carry around with you in your bag or wherever you want. The monitor runs on batteries, the heart monitor comes with a set of rechargable batteries and also a charger to plug in to the mains.
I have recently brought one of these machines as i am now 34 weeks pregnant myself and due to illness i havent been able to attend my midwife appointments and i have missed out on alot of times to hear my babies heartbeat so my partner treated me to one. We can spend hours a day listen to it as it is the most wonderfulest think in the world.
They are defanatly worth paying around £80.00 if not more because it is something you can use over and over again each time you become pregnant you can even use it on other people if you want. Its easy to clean as well all you have to do is wipe it with a warm damp cloth.
I would totally recommend it to peole who are expecting a baby whether its their first or whatever number child it is as hearing your own unborn childs heartbeat is magical i love it.
The Fetal Doppler monitor is of the same high quality as the one used by physicians for the past 30 years. The Fetal Doppler will detect your unborn baby's heartbeat as early as 10-12 weeks into your pregnancy. You can rest assured that retail-therapy sel
