Advantages: None greasy, easy application lovely smell and make skin as soft as velvet
Disadvantages: Doesn't get rid of stretch marks (does help them though!)
I'm the first to admit I don't have the best body in the world! I mean you don't go from 16 stone to 9 stone and end up tawt and firm so I feel like I need help with my consitena belly and stretch marked tum! Sadly I have more creases on my saggy belly than Mother Teresa's face! I'm saggy as hell and I've tried every lotion and potion on the market to tighten myself up and as we all know there really isn't a magic solution. So I stopped looking and wasting my money and falling for all the fake promises companies make. However I do use body lotion alot and I needed some as I have dry tight skin at the moment and this being of reasonable price and an excellent body lotion I have used in the past it doesn't matter to me if it worked on stretch marks or not so I never really purchased it for the promise!
The Packaging....
250ml white oval shaped plastic bottle with integrated flip top lid. The label that covers the front tells me it is Palmer's, Cocoa Butter Formula, with vitamin E. It goes on to tell me it softens, smooths & relieves dry skin. On the bottom it promises it smooths marks and tones skin and then the size is stated as I've stated already. Then at the bottom in raised white plastic Palmer's is written. On the the back label again I'm told it's Palmer's and then I'm told what it should achieve, some stuff in a foreign languages I don't understand (lots of it lol), ingredients are listed and I'm told it isn't tested on animals and contact details for E.T Browne Drug Company (the manufacturer of Palmer's products) are given, and a bar code is on there too.
About The Product....
Cocoa butter, enriched with Vitamin E is an advanced moisturiser that softens, smooths and relieves dry skin. Also helps smooth and blend unattractive marks and scars. An excellent after tanning butter. Widely recommended for stretch marks, during and after pregnancy. Use daily for a soft, youthful appearance.
My Experience....
To use it you have to tip the bottle upside down and squeeze it. The lotion comes out in a stream. It isn't a runny liquid and comes out in an unbroken line type of thing. No splodging and no big lumps or splats of it. You have total control of how much you dispense. It's a light beige colour and really does smell very sweet and of cocoa. Now it you don't like a chocolaty smell avoid it because this is highly fragranced and because of the whiff I'm sure most suited to female users. The smell sits on the skin until you wash it off and washing it off is also easy so you get no build up on the skin.
The application is a dream. No hard rubbing and you sweep it on the skin and it sinks in absolutely immediately giving way to velvet skin as you go. It's really none greasy and you can dress immediately leaving no greasy residue on clothes.
I can use this everyday of course giving me soft skin or if I can't be bothered I can use this as a treatment where my skin is particularly dry and it solves the problem quickly.
So I've spoke a bit about the softening qualities. It does that without a problem and its highly recommended from me on that score and in my mind would be particularly great for people with very dry skin and women with mature skin. However anyone can use this because even on my greasy calves and a bit on my back that's prone to getting overly greasy this doesn't give me any more problems.
So I've been concentrating on my stretch marks for the best couple of weeks. Now although it improves the skin condition around the marks and on scars (couple from shaving my legs in the past) it doesn't get rid of them. My pink colour hasn't gone and skin still appears shiny in some places. However the whole area does feel smoother and immediately after using this I do feel and look a little bit less creased in the tummy area in particular but this is only for the duration of having this product on the skin as soon as you wash it off in the bath or shower your back to square one so it does tone as it promises. It does nothing for cellulite which isn't a promise made by the product anyway.
Overall....
Great skin softening capabilities this is the Daddy of body moisturisers in every aspect but the promise of irradiating stretch marks is simply a step to far. As I said yes it does soften them areas but I've found no fading.
I've never been pregnant so I've no first hand experience whether this would be good but I tend to thing yes it would be as it's a nice thick lotion and is smoothing.
It is great after sunbathing as we are told as long as your not burnt of course as it isn't an after sun cream but it is great for helping skin feel less tight and more comfortable to live in.
I certainly will be buying this again and again as it's lovely and luxurious!
I paid £2.00 for my bottle in Superdrug and it can be purchased all over the place!
Summary: A real beauty must have!
