Why these trousers
********************
As every pregnant woman knows your whole wardrobe changes over the course of your pregnancy and your normal clothes are consigned to the back of the wardrobe. Trying to find reasonably priced maternity clothes where I live is tricky really as you have three options Mothercare, Mama's and Papa's and a very exclusive maternity fashion shop. With this in mind I started searching the internet and came across these trousers they were described by "Mother & Baby Magazine as The perfect 'dress-them-up-or-down' stretchy black trousers" being the sucker at times for advertising that I am I was sold and bought these. I had found a promotion code for free delivery and 10 % off so was even more pleased with myself especially as they arrived from the catalogue very swiftly.
What are they?
****************
The trousers are made from black jersey material which consists of 96% viscose, 4% elastane. They have a comfortable roll top -which can be worn either over or under your bump. The trousers come in three leg lengths short regular and long to ensure you get the perfect fit. Personally mine were short as I am only 5 foot 2 ½ and the length was fine.

Appearance and comfort
**************************
I have to admit that these trousers were one of my best maternity clothes buys. I personally found through my pregnancy that I preferred to have trousers that covered my bump. Yes you do look a bit like Simon Cowell with your trousers up by you armpits but it felt more comfortable than below the bump. Plus it made your pregnancy bump looked less like a beer gut hanging over your trousers as some below the bump trousers can do, which is a look I just came to hate. Also I never felt my bump was secure or supported with trousers below my bump.
These trousers were lovely and soft and the jersey material made them have a flowing quality so they lie very well on your legs. The bottom of the trousers is slightly flared in a sort of boot cut style. This was useful for me as I could wear my boots under the trousers without spoiling the line of the trousers.
The roll top with its elastane seemed to gradually stretch with my bump and never felt either so tight that I felt restricted in them or so loose that I had to hitch them up like I had to with some other trousers. The stretch in them seemed to be a perfect combination of support for your bump and comfort for you.
I found these trousers gave me enough warmth winter to keep me and bump nice and cozy.
I found these trousers to be a good wardrobe basic when pregnant as I could dress them up with nice tops for evenings out. I wore them to work with some flowing tops and cardigans and they looked smart and professional. It was also possible to just slob in them with a big jumper and curl up on the sofa.
Washing
***********
These trousers washed very well and never started to fade or get any bobbles on the material during the time I wore them. Due to the elastane you can't tumble dry them or they will shrink. It was because of this I ended up buying a second pair of these so one could be in the wash and drying whilst I was wearing the other.
Overall and recommendation
*****************************
These are a great pair of trousers that can be dressed up and dressed down dependant on your needs. They are comfortable to wear and provide support for your bump. They wash well and I found them to be a must have in my pregnancy wardrobe. I would definitely recommend these to any mum to be.
