Blooming Marvellous Maternity V-neck Silver Grey Cable Jumper
I am hugely grateful to be pregnant, for a while it seemed like it might never happen for my husband and I so despite all the pregnancy pains and niggles I have tried my hardest to keep smiling and remember the outcome is worth anything pregnancy can put my body through. But, there are small things that can be done to easily make your-self feel better and looking nice and taking some pride in my appearance is by far one of the simplest for me, so I have invested in a few wardrobe items that make me feel comfortable and at the same time attractive in my ever changing shape.
In my opinion the Blooming Marvellous Maternity V-neck Silver Grey cable jumper is lovely and by far one of my favourite maternity wardrobe items that I have bought to date and I would really recommend it to anyone and everyone - well at least those that are pregnant.
The jumper (as pictured above) is a lovely delicate grey colour, the material is really soft and it is quite warm even though it is rather thin. It is just not as thick as you might expect from a winter jumper, but when you're pregnancy and carrying an internal portable hot water bottle I have found that you definitely don't need thick layers, but layers this time of year are essential. I've found that the jumper has been great on colder days or on days where I haven't quite needed a jacket but still wanted to be warm. There is also loads of room to wear another top under the jumper without the whole style looking overly bulky.
Personally, I tend to mostly wear my cable jumper with a pair of jeans but during the Christmas holidays I did dress it up slightly with some nice black trousers and some chunky jewellery accessories. It's a lovely jumper and it's nice to invest in something that can be either dressed up or dressed down depending upon the occasion, especially if like me you don't want to buy too many items of clothing that you will only really be wearing for a short period of time.
Depending upon what I buy and where I buy it from I alternate between a size 14 and 16, but being pregnant I felt that I wanted to make sure the jumper if anything was a little larger than tighter so I opted for the larger size 16. And it's worked out perfect, because although it was initially on the larger side now that I am nearing the final weeks (and huge!) it still fits with lots of extra space. Therefore, it kind of depends on what stage of your pregnancy you are at for choosing a size, especially if like me you end up ordering online instead of trying all the sizes on at your local Mothercare store. I would have looked a bit swamped by the size 16 when I was just starting to show or I had a smaller bump but now it's great to still be able to wear this and for it not too feel overly tight, which is something I hate in pregnancy clothing. The Blooming Marvellous Maternity v-neck cable jumper is available in a good range of sizes from a size 8 to a size 20.
Due to being a little more clumsy than usual and having a big sticky out tummy I have managed to drop food, spill juice and generally just get the jumper dirty so much quicker than I would like to think I would have pre-pregnancy. But, even despite the jumper requiring quite a lot of washing after more than a couple of months of regular wear and tear it still looks pretty much like new and hasn't bobbled hardly at all. The only really place that the jumper looks a little more worn is right in the belly area and that is entirely my fault because I rub my tummy when the little one is dancing about inside. I've been really impressed with how well this jumper has worn and kept it's shape and I'm sure it will continue to be fine to see me through the last few weeks and even a little beyond.
This jumper isn't the cheapest of maternity wardrobe items that I have bought but in my opinion it has been worth every penny. Currently the jumper is retailing for £35, but it is definitely worth watching out for a Mothercare voucher - I managed to get £5 off my order because I signed up for the Mothercare baby and me magazine, which hasn't sent me a ton of spam but some other useful vouchers - for example I also got a 10% off voucher that I was able to use to take down the price of the pram I wanted to buy. I don't usually sign up for too many of the baby packs because I can't stand the extra spam being delivered to my door and inbox but I'd recommend if you are expecting that you look into Mothercare's Baby and Me club.
If I had one complaint about the jumper it would be that it is not available in any other colours, don't get me wrong it's not that I don't love the silver grey shade, because I do. But I would have quite happily opted to buy another one of these jumpers in a different colour (maybe a nice purple - if anyone from Mothercare is reading this :) ) because so far I tend to wear the jumper as soon as it's off the washing line and back in my wardrobe.
As I mentioned earlier I ordered this jumper direct from Mothercare and as far as I am aware I think that Mothercare is the only store that stocks the Blooming Marvellous Maternity range. Ordering was really straight forward and delivery only took a couple of days and was free for all orders of £29.99 and was delivered by City-Link Express. I didn't return my jumper but I have returned some other items I've bought online to my nearest store and I have never had any hassle or problems.
The Blooming Marvellous Maternity cable jumper gets the full five out of five star rating from me, this jumper has been one item of clothing that I have worn at least once a week since owning it and unlike a lot of jumpers I've owned this one has washed and worn well, even looking more or less new after a couple of months of heavy wear. Highly recommended.
