“ Brand: Boots / Clothing Type: Maternity Bras „
I went to Arnotts to have a maternity bra fitted, and although it gave great support and looked really pretty, it cost £26.00 and was the most uncomfortable bra I have ever worn. I think this has more to do with the fitting than the actual bra, but considering Arnotts staff are trained in bra fitting I wasn't very impressed. I attempted to get measured at Mothercare, the assistant was completely inaccurate in her measurements, was not trained, and the selection availble was really poor and quite expensive. So it was a quick escape. I also got measured at Boots, although the service wasnt so quick, and I had to try on my bra in a communal changing room, the bra felt comfortable and useful. It was black, which is hard to find in nursing bras, the drop cup, I found the easiest and most discreet to use - and although it eventually teared at the seam, this was probably from over use. At under £10.00 definately the best buy.
Whilst I was very impressed with the value for money of my boots drop cup nursing bra (£6.00) ,I could see why they were cheaper than other nursing bras on the market. For instance I also have a mothercare nursing bra that cost £14.00. My Boots nursing bra is inferior to my Mothercare nursing bra in several ways- firstly I had to buy a size smaller than I actually measured, the sizeing of the bra seemed fairly inacurate and the actual fit of the bra was less comfortable than the Mothercare one, secondly the cups on the boots bra were made of thinner marerial than the mothercare bra. This lead to my breast pads being clearly visible through the bra when wearing any light or tight top, this didn't happen with the Mothercare bra. My advice would be to buy mothercare nursing bras for wearing when going out and to buy the cheaper boots nursing bras for nightime use or for spares.
Just before I had my daughter I bought a Boots breastfeeding bra. Whilst I found it quite comfortable and easy to clip and unclip it was rather plain and I wasnt sure that it gave me the best support so when I needed a new one I went to M&S, mainly because they measure you for free and there is no one else like this in the town where I live. The ladies in the shop were great. They measured me and advised me to try two sizes, they did not have them in stock so I ordered one in both sizes. When they came in a couple of days later I took them both to the changing room to try and again was given advice on which they though fitted best. I have been very pleased with the bra and have had another one since. The measuring service was very good, they gave me lots of time, even though they were busy and I got a bra which is comfortable, easy to lock and unlock and it is also much prettier than the Boots one. It has lace on the top and seems much more supportive in the cup. It wasnt a bad price either £16.00 Well done M&S.
