      A useful pair

Another staple that I wear very often is a comfortable pair of leggings. Since becoming pregnant I have found that the majority of trousers, including those specifically designed for maternity wear feel quite uncomfortable around my middle or have a tendency to slip down. Having never looked at maternity clothing before now, it surprises me how few high street stores actually do a maternity range however thankfully H&M are one of the ones that do. Therefore when I went into my local H&M store recently to have a look at their maternity line I was on the look out for a good pair of stretchy leggings amongst other things. The leggings that I settled on were these 'Mama leggings' which are specifically designed to fit an expanding midriff and therefore allow a section of extra fabric to accommodate your growing bump. In store the material of the leggings looked quite thick and therefore I was not worried about them becoming see through with wear as other brands of leggings can sometimes do. I could only spot one colour of leggings in store, that being black, however this suited me as I find black the best colour to wear on my bottom half to suit virtually every outfit. In terms of sizing, these leggings come in sizes 10-12, 14-16, 18-20 or 22-24. It is my belief that the sizes in H&M are not very true to size and I often have to go one size up from what I usually am to find an item which fits nicely. However, with these leggings I opted for the 10-12 and they fit me perfectly. For information, the composition of these leggings is 5% elastane and 95% cotton which makes for a fabric which has quote a stretchy feel and yet is cool enough to wear even on warmer days. I find this combination of materials perfect in ensuring that the leggings maintain their shape and in the two months I have owned mine they have not become misshapen or overstretched. H&M recommend that these leggings are washed on a 40° wash and I like to wash mine on my usual 30° cycle and find this more than adequate for washing out any marks or dirt accumulated from wear. I like to wear these leggings with quite a variety of different tops and dresses and find them the perfect accessory underneath a casual dress or long jumper. These leggings feel incredibly comfortable on and, unlike other leggings I have tried, these do not leave a pink line around my midriff over the course of the day as a result of the fabric digging in. These leggings have continued to fit me as my bump expands and I can only see this continuing as I get further along in my pregnancy. I like the look of these leggings and find that the thick fabric is adequate at covering my knicker line and the stretchiness of the fabric seems to smooth over my lumps and bumps without exaggerating them. These leggings are currently priced in H&M for a reasonable £7.99. Although this isn't the cheapest price for a pair of leggings, after all I'm sure Primark do some cheaper, it is a good price to pay in my opinion for such a quality staple item and I will certainly be buying more in the future. As a result of this review I would recommend these leggings as an essential maternity item, therefore they score a great five stars from me. I hope this review has been of some help and thanks for reading! x

A great pair of leggings that fit over the largest of bumps

As I've reached the final weeks of pregnancy I've found that many of the maternity clothes that I've been wearing from the earlier stages are now too tight and uncomfortable to wear. I do have to admit that at 37 weeks my bump is huge, inviting comments on how I must have my dates wrong or be carrying more than one baby on more than one occasion. When I first needed to start wearing maternity clothes I bought myself several pairs of leggings from several different stores, all in the same size, out of all those different leggings I can now only wear 2 pairs, one of which is these Mama leggings from H&M and the other a different style of legging also from H&M. When I bought these Mama leggings 4-5 months ago they were available in two leg lengths, full and cropped, but at the moment they do only appear to be available in full leg length, which is probably something to do with the fact we're moving into winter. As far as colour goes, you are stuck with a choice of either black or black, but they do come in a wide range of sizings, with 6-8 being at the smaller end of the range and 22-24 at the top end. Being of a curvier persuasion I do like the fact that these leggings are available in larger sizes than most High Street or online shops. Being a curvy yet short girl, I ordered a pair of the cropped leggings in size 22-24, which cost a reasonable £7.99 not including delivery. The Mama leggings are formed from a stretchy, jersey material comprising of 95% cotton and 5% elastane. While a touch shiny this material is incredibly soft on the skin and does not irritate or cause itching. The comfort level is further enhanced by the lack of seams on the outer leg and the front of the bump band, something I've really come to appreciate in these last few weeks where I'm just constantly feeling uncomfortable no matter what. These leggings are of the over the bump variety (which I much prefer to under bump), but rather than being designed with a pouch as many leggings are (Asda), they feature an extra wide, extra stretchy waistband that can be pulled over the bump. If you do happen to prefer under the bump leggings the material this waistband is made from is thin enough to be able to be rolled down off of the bump. I've been wearing these leggings on and off for the last four months, from about twenty weeks and they are super comfortable. Being just 5' 2" with short legs, I find the cropped length of these leggings are perfect for me, in fact they look just like full length leggings on me. For this reason I would imagine that the full length would just be too long for a shorty like me. The over bump band is made from a thinner and stretchier material than the rest of the leggings it fits securely over my bump without slipping down or digging in, and has done since I first started wearing them. Being black these leggings would have probably been a staple even if other brands still fitted, they are perfect to wear with a vest top or tee shirt for casual wear or paired up with a tunic top or dress for a more dressed up look. I've been wearing these leggings regularly for the last four months now and have found them among the most comfortable on the market, especially as my bump has grown to it's current massive state. They have been worn and washed on countless times (the last few weeks they've been washed three times a week) at 30 degrees, and show no sign of fading or bobbling. In fact while I wouldn't recommend it, they've also been tumble dried a few times with no ill effects. The only real sign that these leggings have received as much wear as they have is that they are starting to sag a little around the thighs, which is pretty impressive considering other rather more expensive maternity leggings I owned in the past have developed saggy knees much quicker than that. I have no hesitation recommending these leggings to any pregnant lady looking for cheap, comfortable, long wearing leggings that will last right up to the final weeks of their pregnancy. I virtually live in mine and my only regret is that I only bought the one pair, I do wish I had invested in a couple more rather than trying other brands. So I'm giving the H&M Mama maternity leggings a resounding five stars out of five.

        great maternity leggings

When I was about 3 months into my pregnancy and was starting to develop a bit of a bump, I went on a maternity clothing shop and bought a few essentials. I didn't want to spend a fortune on clothes that I would wear for 6 months but I felt a couple of pairs of leggings and jeans would be a necessity. I was surprised at how few shops offered a maternity range and the limited amount of choice available in those that did. One shop that I did find to offer a great maternity range was H&M and that is where I purchased some leggings from. I bought a pair in black for £7.99. The leggings are 95% cotton and 5% elastane. They are full length leggings with a thick waistband that pulls right up over your bump. I began wearing these from the point of purchase and throughout my pregnancy. They were comfortable and stayed up well even with a small bump (you purchase in your usual size) and, as my bump has grown, they stretch over it well and remain comfortable without 'digging in' or feeling tight at all. They are extremely comfortable to wear. I am quite tall and the length on these is really good - they do cover the whole of my legs so looked fine in summer with sandals and, equally, tuck into boots for winter. They feel quite thick as leggings go and are of a good quality - despite washing numerous times, they have not faded in colour or thinned out at all. They have actually washed up really well and look as good as new. The only problem that I have had with these is that a slight hole appeared in the seam at the crotch after a few months. This appeared to be where the stitching had worked a little loose and was easily mended with a few stitches to look good as new. Overall, these are a good value staple to your maternity wardrobe. They are extremely comfortable, which is important when pregnant, and can be dressed up or down so are very versatile. I would definitely recommend for all Mamas to be!

My pregnancy must have - I couldnt have coped without them!

As my baby bump started to grow, I found I could still fit in to many of my dresses, just not my leggings. I didn't want to spend a lot of money on maternity clothes, so I went to H&M and brought myself some MAMA leggings, costing £7.99. The leggings only come in long length (ankle length) and black. They are 5% elastane and 95% organic cotton and are machine washable at 40 degrees. They come in small, medium and large. I am a size 12, and have gone for the medium. The leggings themselves feel nice and soft. The main body of the leggings fits up to my hips in the normal way, with the extra 'baby band' that stretches right over the top of my baby bump. I am now six and a half months pregnant and have been wearing the leggings since I was about four months pregnant and there is still room for them to stretch as I continue to grow. One thing I was concerned about was the length - at 5' 8 I often struggle to but leggings that are long enough, but these probably have a couple of inches to spare so likely to be too long for shorter people. I now have two pairs of the leggings which I wear all the time. They have stretched out of shape in that time and always come out of the wash looking and feeling like new. They are great to wear with shoes or boots, are incredibly comfortable and keep my bump nice and snug. The only down side to these, is that they only come in one colour - I hope that H&M extends its range one day. I would definitely recommend them - they have become my maternity wardrobe essential and I will recommend to all my pregnant friends when they are sorting out their maternity wardrobe. 5 stars from me - I was tempted to deduct one for the lack of choice of colour, but I do love them, and they are such a bargain at that price. Thanks for reading Mrs W Ps - I have also continued to wear these since having my daughter as they are so comfortable!
