      Very helpful

      A great, comfortable linen skirt

I'm not finding it easy to find good fitting maternity clothes. A lot of my friends have recommended various places but I'm finding clothes either too big or too small. My problem has been partially resolved with the help of Pumpkin Patch (please see my review of their online store and pencil skirt). They have a lovely range of maternity clothes suitable for both work and at home which for me is ideal as I don't want to spend a lot of money on clothes I'm not going to wear for that long especially as I've only just started to wear maternity clothes at 24 weeks!

One item I picked up in the Pumpkin Patch sale was the grey linen maternity skirt (apologies for the picture for the review as Pumpkin Patch no longer have this skirt on their website). I wanted a skirt which was ideal for work and ideal for time at home. The last thing in the summer I wanted to do was wear a heavy skirt and the linen skirt is a great, lighter option.

The skirt is a light grey colour with almost a hue of blue to it which makes it a bit nicer than your standard grey colour if that makes sense! The skirt is A-Line and gently rests just below the knee. However, the elasticated waist can either go under your bump or over it as the material over the elastic is incredibly soft and certainly doesn't dig in. The waistband is also adjustable with the two little ties that hang down in the middle of the skirt so you have the skirt tighter if you wish. This is especially useful if like me you are in between sizes. The skirts has two pockets at both sides and are quite deep but it adds to the design of the skirt as its not quite formal but formal enough to wear it in an office. There are also two pockets at the back.

The skirt is available in sizes XS, S, M, L and XL. They have a great size guide on their website and in store which breaks all the sizes down for you. I'm normally a size 8 and I opted for a small which in theory I could have got away with the extra small but as the bump is going to grow more the small is a better size as I have more room making it more comfortable. The skirt from the top of the waist band to the hem is 23.5 inches and the elasticated waistband is 3 inches.

Only problem with this skirt which is incredibly minor is that there is no label so you don't have any washing instructions! I've washed it on a low temperature and let it dry naturally as linen can have a tendency to shrink I find. It is incredibly easy to iron but does crease easily.

Unfortunately the skirt was in their summer sale so the only way of buying it is either in store where you can pick it up for about £9.00 (which is what I paid) and there was a lot of choices in the sizes that were in the sale or you can find it on EBay probably at a reduced cost even if it is second hand your not exactly going to be wearing it for that long!

Overall, this is a great skirt which is comfortable especially in the warmer summer months. It hangs nicely, it isn't too tight fitting but its ideal for work. The elasticated waist is soft and comfortable and best of all it is expandable! If you can get to Pumpkin Patch whilst it is still there in the sale then I would definitely recommend you to buy it!
