“ Brand: Brand / Product Type: Double Mattress „
I have never had to buy a bed yet as in all previous rented houses the furniture was included.
In this new flat I bought this mattress along with a sprung slatted leather look bed from Argos. The reason I bought the mattress in particular is because it was originally over £500 but in the sale was reduced to £239 which I though was a bargin especially with cashback going through quidco as well. I did a lot of research and Rest Assured seemed to be a reputable company although on their own website and through Dreams it was really expensive.
The mattress was delivered and it took two men to carry it, it had a warning of 30kg on it so it was a bit of a mission to move it around the house. It has soft handles on the sides so you can lift it up easily.
It has to be turned regularly in the first 6 months and its very hard to do that especially as my bedroom is so tiny and I have to turn it alone. To lift it sideways is ok but longways is impossible and could make my back worse and so defeat the point of getting a good mattress.
It is so comfortable, even on a very cheap bedstead it gives you the best nights sleep. It is pocket sprung which was recomended to me as a firm mattress but not too hard. It feels like its moulding around you so you arent too high up on the bed.
Its a good mattress if you have issues with your back, as it supports your middle and you can lie on your side without it being painful. I have a problem with the base of my spine and it has helped a lot having a new ortho mattress. In the morning I feel as if I have had a good deep sleep and I also have good pillows but I think this mattress is making a real difference.
Its white and cream with a sort of sheen on it. It came wrapped in a huge plastic wrap and after 2 months of use still feels as new as the day I first lay on it. I am very pleased that I didnt spend too much as the mattress world is very expensive for something decent.
