Sony MDS JE530 ... have owned my sony JE530 minidisc deck for about four months. I bought it as a replacement for my aging analogue cassette deck. The deck is very well featured with coaxial and analogue inputs and optical and analogue outputs,digital pitch control and the full range of edit and text facilities. Recording from a CD via the coaxial input gives an almost perfect copy, the compression barely evident. Recording via the analogue input using the decks internal DAC is also very good. Sony MDS JE520 ... had this product for well over a year and it is absoloutley faultless. For the money I payed for it (£120) it represents unbeatable value. It's compact, very user-friendly and it's not too complicated. It's got as many features as one could want and the controller which is provided free is also great with every letter making the job of naming tracks e.t.c. a lot more easier. It looks nice and I can't find anything wrong with the sound which one might expect at such a low price. At it's price it must be unbeatable so take my advice, go and buy it now. ... Sony MDS S40 ... bought this as an extra for my midi Hi-fi and it really has been a treat. Extremly easy to. With great sound quality and extremly easy to use. Also one thing I would like to say about Sony is there stuff actually survives wear and tear unlike my Sharp Portable minidisc recorder which they wouldn't repair even though it was under the 1 year thing.
