The Sony MDS-JB940 QS is a Superb recording machine, it is packed full of very usefull features including fade in and fade out which is great for removing unwanted talking if recording from radio. It is very well made, take a look inside and you will see Sony have not populated the PCB with cheap components. Best of all it has excellent sound quality both analogue and digital recordings are faithfully reproduced.
Another usefull feature is this Sony can be used as a stand alone DAC without a disc in the machine, there are plent of input and output options so this is a very usefull thing to have. A shame sony dont make these any more I believe only a mid range machine is available new and rumour has it they will be dropping the mini disc format completely, the dreaded Mp3 format has a lot to answer for.

Summary: Excellent recording device.
