This entry level machine from Sony isn't much cop as far as a seperates system. Sound quality is decent but being the most basic model, it is ill-equipped for the price and is basically a box of fresh air - I have seen better equiped personal decks than this. It is over priced for what it is and the accessories supplied aren't much cop, either - the cheapest of cheap remote control batteries, an instruction manual for different models (which makes you feel you've bought the wrong machine as the others are so much better). A severe lack of editing functions is fustrating, as is the thin, ill-fitting wrap-around lid case, which has gaps between the ... Read the complete review

To be completely honest when uttering my thoughts on this Sony MDS JE330, I would have to say that I really wouldn`t bother purchasing it, as it was a major let down in most ways, and I found it to be a waist of money, a large sum at that... I purchased this product at ebay for 166.99 a while back, and I will say that it`s one of the most disappointing buys I have ever done, as I expected a lot more quality and features from such a well known and praised brand as Sony, however they didn`t really impress me with this product... One of the biggest advantages of my new JE330 is that it is a Sony product. Sony is a name I trust and I bought the minidisc in confidence. I was not disappointed. It boasts Digital and analogue in but only analogue out, which limits the functionality when copying minidiscs etc. The remote is brilliant, offering text message like labelling of tracks. The mono recording option was also attractive, as I work in dramatics and mono is often a preferencial format. Linking it up to my hifi, I was astonished by the quality of sound produced. I have since linked it to my PC so that I can record some interesting sounds which i edit on the pc. I would ... Read the complete review

I think that the sony minidisk player is a very good start for recordable hifi separates. It is easy to use and has very good sound quality for a simple to use minidisk player/recorder. I would recomened it to any one who is looking for a cheapish easy to use minidisk deck. The minidisk player is very easy to use so any one could use it. If you have never heard music from a minidisk player you will be very surprised with the sound quality.the remote is very big but it is still very easy to use. ... Read the complete review
