An insulting name for such a good guide

This is one of the better tape measures that I use, and have done for quite some time, and with the brand 'Stanley' attached to it you know it should be good, which it is.
It has the usual wafer thin metal tape that has measurements on it, although on this one the tape has measurements on both sides, with the metal stopper/gripper having grips on both sides so that the measurer can use both side.
The tape is 10 metres long, or 33 feet, roughly, and a mere 30mm thick, with a belt clip on one side so that you can clip it to your belt, hence the name.
On the front top side there is a black sliding button that traps the tape when you need to and then lets it loose when you want to.
The casing is a good feel having a rather good grip to it, being a little rubberises on the rear and base. The only real metal bits are on the front where the slider is.
The metal of the tape is made of a rather good material, which I think is called Mylar coating which means that it is less likely to bend when stretched out too far. This is great as some measures I've used flop about like a jelly on a plate. And as the tape curves nicely down the centre is really does hold its shape.

The measurements on this are easy to read, on both sides, giving you the option of metres/CM/MM or even inches.

As I said, this is one of the best I have used, although the best one I've got is one that automatically locks as it is pulled out, with the button only needing to be pressed when I want the tape to retract. Sadly though, this one doesn't do that so it's a matter of trapping and releasing the tape when you're measuring long pieces of wood, for instance.

It is a little more than your standard tape measure sells for, being about £17 - £20, which is a lot for a tape measure but for that you get a good, solid build with measuring scales on either side of the tape itself.
So, if you do a lot of measuring, this one is one to look out for.
