After a lovely weekend (weather wise), and the obligatory BBQ, I feel the need to share some of the food I cooked for myself and my guests.....albeit in review form!

The product I will now review is - "Asda - 6 BBQ beef meatball kebabs".

This product comes within it's own rigid plastic tray, covered over and sealed with a film lid, the housed within it's own cardboard sleeve.

Directions for cooking couldn't be simpler! You can either grill then on a wire trivet, cook them in the oven on a foil lined baking sheet or cook on a non flaming BBQ, though I do tend to part cook everything before finishing off on the BBQ, with this even being advised on the back of the cardboard sleeve.

When placing these on the BBQ (or any method you see fit!), you will notice that though these are described as meatballs, they actually look more like oven cook "ribs" you can get, with the meat being a solid column but having a wave shape on either side.
The product is held on it's own wooden skewer, and is around 4"- 2" in length, this is supposed to equate to four generous sized meatballs.

When cooked through, with the pack stating that grilling times given can be used for BBQ timings also (25 - 30 minutes), serve straight away, I have found these are much nicer warm and do tend to lose heat quite quickly.

Taste wise these really are delicious! The meat is slightly textured, almost like mince that has been reformed, but containing no lumps or hard gristly bits, anything like that puts me off immediately and then I can't continue eating!

When you start eating, and even though I have said these don't look like meatballs on a stick, they come apart like meatballs, making them lovely little mouth sized pieces.

The meat is flavoursome and moist, with there being a lovely smoky sauce flavouring over the top of the meat, this makes them perfect in my opinion.

The nutritional information is as follows -
      Per kebab,
      106 kcal,
      8.3g protein,
      3.1g carbohydrate,
      1.2g of which sugars,
      6.6g fat,
      2.8g of which saturates,
      0.4g fibre,
      0.16g sodium.

Allergy advice states that these contain gluten, wheat, barley, sulpher dioxide (?) and celery/celeriac.

Price wise these are available for £2.00 a box, though are part of an offer running at the moment "buy three for £5.00", with there being a wide selection of products to choose from.
