“ Brand: Birds Eye / Type: Meat „
I brought these from Cool Trader last week because we all like chicken burgers and I thought these spicy ones would be a nice change. They are chicken burgers in a spicy breadcrumb coating and come in a box of 4, mine cost £1.00 but they are probably a bit more expensive in the supermarket.
You can cook them in a few different ways, I did mine in the oven because I think if you grill chicken burgers they dry out too quick and the thought of having them fried is madly sickly. They smell different to other chicken burgers while they're cooking and you get a whiff of the spices coming out of the oven.
I've had one on its own and one in a bun now and they're nice both ways. The breadcrumbs are a lot spicier than I thought they would be but it's not over powering and they have got a flavour of their own as well as just being HOT. The taste of the spice goes proper nice with the chicken and I was right when I said these would be a nice change from plain chicken burgers.
The chicken cooks soft and tender, it's got a nice taste and texture as you eat the burger. My fave way to eat these burgers is in a bun with a bit of mayo and slices of tomato and cucumber, that cools the spicy breadcrumbs down a bit and makes it into more of a tasty meal.... you could have chips and stuff with them as well and that would be more filling. If you don't have them on a bun you could have the burgers with chips or mash on a plate, when I had mine like that I put salt and vinegar on them and that went nice and made them taste a bit like the spicy chicken burgers you get from the chippy.
I think these burgers are quite filling and the spicy taste means you can't really eat more than one.... my dad does but he's the kind of bloke who can eat a vindaloo without stressing about it! lol They're more verstile than you think as well because the spicy coating makes them perfect for chopping up and putting in tortillas and stuff like that. The chicken goes nice with a blob of mayo however you have the burger.
Recommended.... give them a try. These burgers aren't that spicy that they'll blow your heads off but have deffo got a nice kick to them.
We have bought this product on a number of occasions now and we wnjoy them every time.
** The Product **
(According to the back of the box) This product Hot 'n' Spicy chicken burgers are made from marinated chopped chicken breast coated in breadcrumbs blended with red peppers, parsley and spicy. Basically its chicken burgers that are coated in spicy breadcrumbs.
** The Packaging **
This product comes in a pack of 2, the box has an American sort of theme to it, red stripes etc. The from of the box has a picture of the cooked product in a bun, along with the logo and product name, the back contains all the useful information such as ingredients, nutritional info etc.
** The Taste **
The product does actually taste spicy believe it or not lol. I think the end results depend on how you cook the product, personally I prefer to cook them in the oven, that way you can ensure that the chicken is thoroughly cooked and the coating doesn't burn. The chicken is tender and tastes very nice with the coating, the coating is crisp and spicy.
** Nutritional Information per cooked burger **
** Price and Availability **
This product is sold in all major supermarkets, although the prices can vary. I usually pick them up on offer for £1.00 from Tesco, which is a regular offer. However you could end up paying approximately £1.20-£1.40 for them.
** Overall Opinion **
This is actually a very nice tasting product, and makes a really quick, simple meal, im not sure children would like them (unless they like hot food) as the spices are quite strong and do burn your mouth a little.
The burgers themselves are of a very good size, my partner always has two although this is not needed as they are very filling.
Overall I think this product is excellent value for money, on offer or not, they definitely satisfy your hunger and taste of good quality.
5/5 from me.
