Advantages: Easy to cook and are great quality
Disadvantages: Too thin and bland for me
When it comes to things like chicken burgers they are not things that usually put in an appearance in my freezer. I love to cook and experiment with foods and I'm not usually a fan of ready prepared foods. However my boyfriend is and not only is he a very plain eater but a very fussy one too and so when I spotted these just before he arrived to visit I treated him to a box and felt I couldn't go wrong with a brand like Birds Eye!
Yellow box with a photograph of Captain Birds Eye on there and a photograph of one of the chicken burgers in a bun. I'm told that they are Birds Eye '4' Chicken Burgers and that they are made with chicken breast, there is an at a glance nutritional chart displayed and I am told that they contain no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives and that Birds Eye offer a commitment of quality. Other information on the box includes a little bit more information about Birds Eye and the burgers, ingredients and allergy advice is stated along with a full nutritional rundown chart, I'm told how to cook them and contact details for Birds Eye are given. Nice bright informative packaging this is!
Best cooked from frozen (according to the information stated on the box) all you do with these small, thin, round and orangy coloured chicken burgers (orange in colour due to the breadcrumbs which are coated evenly over each one) is either grill them in about 10-12 minutes or oven cook them in about 12 minutes. I cooked them both ways as I had 4 burgers and used them over a couple of days and either way is much the same as the other in regards to the final outcome once cooked.
Taste wise well I found them a little plain to be honest with you...but my boyfriend adored them. They are rather plain in taste with golden breadcrumbs which go a little hard through cooking and are a bit crunchy and the chicken is mushed up within the breadcrumbs and stays moist and lightly pink though thoroughly cooked. They are lightly seasoned, plain good quality burgers though for me personally not only only were they a little too bland they were a bit thin and therefore a little too crunchy for my liking! Not bad and I can't argue with the quality of them to be fair to them!
Nutritional Information Per Burger:
Available in all good supermarkets etc costing about £1.50 a box unless on offer. At the moment these are on offer with alot of Birds Eye chicken type products being on offer at 3 boxes for three pound.
Summary: At the moment these are my boyfriend's fav!
