Birds Eye Chicken Burgers
Advantages: Taste, quality, price
I have only started eating meat again in the past couple of years after being a vegetarian for 14 years. I dont eat a lot of meat and I am still very picky about what I will and will not eat. One thing I do like is chicken.
Whenever I do buy chicken products, unless it is fresh I will almost always go for the Birds Eye brand simply because all of their products use 100% chicken breast and I know I will be getting good value for money.
When looking in Tesco the other day for something quick and easy for that evenings dinner my eyes fell on these chicken burgers. We have had them before and never had any problems and they were on offer for 4 for £1 so I grabbed a box.
The chicken burgers are frozen and they will need to be kept that way until you cook them.
To cook these you can either grill them or oven bake them. I always oven bake them as I just find it easier. They take about 12 minutes both ways so they are quick to cook.
Personally, I always leave my chicken burgers in for about 15 minutes simply because I want to be certain they are cooked! After that 15 minutes the breadcrumbs look a lovely golden colour and you can smell the chicken. The burgers hold together well and do not fall apart.
The burgers look appetising and I couldnt wait to tuck in. The burgers were easy to cut through and the chicken was soft and not at all tough. The breadcrumbs go well with the chicken and give a lovely seasoned taste. The chicken tastes lovely and fresh and it is soft and almost melts in the mouth.
I find that 1 of these is enough as part of a main meal for those who dont have such a large appetite but most people will probably want 2.
Each burger contains 130 calories, 0.3g sugar, 6.5g fat (1.0g saturates) and 0.3g salt. Now the fat isnt really too bad here and the saturates are quite low so these are not too bad as part of a main meal.
I really liked these burgers and will buy them again, they are good value for money and taste lovely. With Birds Eye you know you are getting a quality product and I would recommend them.
