... and easy to open. The Chicken Itself: What you get is two large and rather fat pieces of visually coated chicken. It's a yellowy colour and your meant to cook these from frozen either by cooking them in the oven for about 25 minutes or grilling them in around 20 minutes though I admit to being lazy and prefer instead to bung them in the oven till their time is up opposed to standing by a grill and flipping them! When cooked these give off a nice chicken smell really, go golden in colour and look crunchy. The breadcru...more

I love Birds Eyes Chicken breasts topped in things so when I spotted this hot & spicy chicken x 2 in a box I was eager to try them out! At a pound a box (on offer at the time and it still is) in Asda I thought that it offered excellent value for money too and knowing that I usually like Birds Eye foods couldn't wait to get stuck into it! The Packaging: Yellow box with a photograph of the chicken on the front and we are told that it is Birds Eye, 2 Hot & Spicy Chicken and that it is made with 100% chicken breast and contains no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives and there is an at a glance nutritional chart shown too. On the back ...  Read the complete review

When it comes to Chicken burgers you can sometimes find they lack that X-Factor, that zing of flavour. As a result it's sometimes tempting to try similar things that have something extra in them and one of the products that has been popular in my household recently has been the Birds Eye Hot and Spicy Chicken. Although not a direct substitute for a goo old chicken burger they are similar and and mix fine chicken with brilliantly tasty spices to leave a fantastic overall taste. Sold in packets of two pieces in most major British supermarkets they come in the typical Birds Eye orange packets. When taken out of the packet they resemble two chicken pieces covered ...  Read the complete review

Birds Eye Hot & Spicy Chicken: too hot for us (292 words)

If I had to pick, this one would be my least favourite Chicken thing from the Birds Eye range. I know i've mentioned other ones that I didn't like, but after trying this one last night, I won't be trying this again. I like Hot Foods, but this was just too overpowering, and I didn't think there was as much Chicken in this one as the rest of the range, but I know by the pack size that there must have been. This is in the freezers next to the other Birds Eye Chicken range. I think the normal price is around £1.60 for the 2 bits of Chicken, but the range is often on offer for £1 a pack, and that's when we stock up a bit. The wife hadn't tried this one either, so ...  Read the complete review

The big supermarkets keep putting the Bird's Eye Chicken breasts in various flavours at £1 a box which makes them a very appealing meal for dinner. The fact that these chicken breasts are 100% chicken is very appealing and makes you feel like these are going to be really tasty and filling meal. The hot and spicy chicken is exactly what it says on the box! They give your whole mouth a tingly feeling. The box recommends cooking these at gas mark 6, 200 degrees or 180 degrees for a fan assisted oven for 25 minutes. However, I have a fan assisted oven and have followed these instructions and find that they need longer than the 25 minutes to look like ...  Read the complete review

This and some other birds eye products are currently on offer in most supermarkets for £1 per box which makes them almost irresistible to my trolley when it is being pushed around the store and therefore a couple of packets found their way on to this weeks shopping bill (low for a change!) and we promptly set about trying them tonight with some bombay potatoes and rice. Yum! For £1 you got 2 chicken breasts which are approximately 230 calories and 12g of fat each. We had two with our dinner but I only managed one and a bit as I was quite full from my potatoes and rice (carb fest!). Upon opening the cardboard box (which can be recycled), you are met ...  Read the complete review
