If I had to pick, this one would be my least favourite Chicken thing from the Birds Eye range. I know i've mentioned other ones that I didn't like, but after trying this one last night, I won't be trying this again. I like Hot Foods, but this was just too overpowering, and I didn't think there was as much Chicken in this one as the rest of the range, but I know by the pack size that there must have been.
This is in the freezers next to the other Birds Eye Chicken range. I think the normal price is around £1.60 for the 2 bits of Chicken, but the range is often on offer for £1 a pack, and that's when we stock up a bit. The wife hadn't tried this one either, so we got 2 packs for tea last night.
You just cook this in the oven for about 20 minutes and this does jsut right. The coating on the outside ends up crisp and the Chicken inside is soft and tender and perhaps a bit juicy. It tasted of Breast Meat, so it was a nice chunk of Chicken in here.
The coating on the outside was a Breadcrumb. It didn't seem that thick a coating, so I didn't expecting that much of a taste from this, but I was wrong. The Coating was crunchy, and it was pretty Hot and Spicy. It didn't taste that Peppery, but there was a sort of Red Hot taste, like jalapeno's or Peri Peri. It was just too overpowering and I had to have a drink at the back of having this.
Not for me. Just too nippy. I will stick to the others in the range.
