Lovely quality and tasting chicken at a great price!

One thing I love is spiced up chicken and luckily for me Birds Eye do a selection of chicken that are not only relatively cheap but also very tasty and so I buy chargrills rather often!

One I hadn't seen on sale until last week was Birds Eye 'Mexican' Chicken Chargrills and at only a pound for a box of two of them I couldn't wait to get them home and chomp on them for my supper!

      The Packaging:

The chargrills come in an orange and blue coloured cardboard box and on the front of the box there is a photograph of a chargrills and we are told that they are Birds Eye Chicken Chargrills '2 Mexican' and that they are made with 100% chicken breast and there is an at a glance nutritional chart shown. On the back of the box other information listed includes being told a bit about the product, ingredients, allergy advice and nutritional information is given as well as cooking instructions (pop them from frozen in the oven for about 20 minutes) and contact details for Birds Eye are given. Nice enough, informative packaging this is, easy to open etc.

      The Chargrills:

Well they are both rather large and reasonably thick and of course when I got mine out to pop in the oven they were frozen as thats how we are told to cook them from and in colour and pinkish shade. I found my chargrills to cook in 20 minutes exactly and they went a reddish colour with the coating on them going wet and looking and feeling slightly sticky and plenty of it though they were not dripping or anything like that.

The chicken chargrill is made up from 76% breast, (the rest of the ingredients are the glaze and the likes) no fat or gristle is within them at all and I like the slight black scorch marks on both sides of the chargrill give it a griddled appearance. I like the thickness and the fact the chicken is tasty, succulent and well seasoned and that there is plenty of the red glaze on it, evenly coating each portion of the chicken.

The glaze gives the chicken an added moisture boost and to me tastes slightly Sweet and peppery though not blow your brains out hot with a taste of onions and garlic to it and it really is just sweet, sticky and very yummy indeed.

I absolutely love these chargrills, they are speedy to cook, look great on the plate and really do taste wonderful and rich in flavors and get a giant thumbs up from me and my flatmate who also can't get enough of them lol.
