“ Brand: Country Store / Type: Meat „
With the deliciously warm and sunny weather we have been having of late, I have been hosting quite a lot of family bbq's. Now whilst now and again I like to push the boat out with salads, rices and kebabs. Sometimes I like to go back to good old basics and offer beefburgers and hot dogs.
There is nothing that can compare, taste wise, to a beautifully cooked beef burger with onions and relish. The only trouble being that sometimes finding a perfect, good quality burger can be more easily said than done. Whilst you can pay an absolute fortune for a pack of burgers, there are others that are cheap and cheerful but taste vile. There doesn't seem to be much on the market for affordable, quality burgers.
I must admit, when I first saw these country store Aberdeen Angus burgers in Tesco at the very reasonable price of £1.99 for four. I wasn't holding out much hope. I thought they would taste like all other economy burgers, cheap and processed. However I was both suprised and delighted when I discovered that actually these burgers are really good.
The first thing that struck me when opening the box, is that each burger is of a really good size. I thought that they would be much smaller than the size pictured on the box, but they are really as juicy and plump as the burger shown.
I also liked the quality of the burger, when cooking on the bbq, hardly any fat comes out and the delicious meaty aroma, further indicates that these burgers are made from good quality beef.
On the reverse side of the box, there is a great amount of information. This explains the nutritional values of each beef burger. i Was pleased to see that the burgers are not as high in fat as I had initially predicted. Infact each burger averages 14g of fat.
I would not hesitate to buy these burgers again. Whwn cooked they are succulent and extremely tasty. They are not at all dry and have a moist juicy texture. They also have a real hearty meaty flavour, which further promotes the fact that these burgers are of a high quality. The burgers also maintain their shape whilst being cooked, they don't break up or disintigrate like some cheaper burgers.
After tasting alot of different branded burgers, I can safely say these are without a doubt one of my favourites. They are of an exceptional standard and considering the cheap price, I think these burgers really are something special. I am certainly more than satified in serving them up in my bbq's.
I did a delish pub style burger meal the other day for me, my little sister, my mate and her little brother. The kids had got on brill together and had been dead good so I thought they deserved a treat. The burgers I used was Country Store Aberdeen Angus Quarter Pound Beef Burgers, they are one of the discount brands that Tesco have started selling and these 4 big burgers cost £1.99.
These burgers are proper nice, they're not as good as the Tesco Finest Aberdeen Angus ones but they are delish! They are very meaty tasting and feel firm as you're eating them to make the burgers feel as much like meat as possible.
The taste is delish, they taste like brill quality beef and you can't hardly taste any fat in them at all. I grilled them and quite a bit of fat come out of the burgers, they felt greasy like all burgers but the taste was pure meat and not a fatty flavour. The one thing I missed in these was the taste of onions because the burgers I usually buy have got onion in them, Birds Eye are the best for that I think but these ones haven't got any onion in at all so it was a good job I'd already fried some for my sister whose mad for onions on burgers and hot dogs!
These Country Store burgers hardly shrink at all while they're cooking, one thing I LOVE about them is that when they're cooking the edges go a bit out of shape and that makes them feel proper rustic.
We had ours in burger buns with cheese, onions, relish and mayo. I was determined to go a good burger meal and it all went soooo nice together, I put most of that down to these burgers looking and tasting quality. You deffo wouldn't know from the price that these are quite cheap burgers, the Tesco Finest Aberdeen Angus come in packs of 2 and they're loads more expensive than these.
Each burger has got 225 calories and 14.9g fat, that fat content isn't very good but it's not like I eat this sort of thing all the time so it doesn't matter than much! lol
Recommended... delish burgers that are majorly meaty and taste sooooooo good!!!
