“ Brand: Country Store / Type: Meat „
When I went to Tesco last week I remembered I needed some chicken breasts, the trouble was the Value ones looked proper naff that day and it was only a small Tesco store so there wasn't all that much choice. These Country Store Chicken Breast Fillets are frozen and cost £3.99 for 800g of chicken.
You need to defrost them before you cook them but that's the same as most frozen chicken breasts, they don't take all that long to defrost and deffo not the 12 hours that it says on the back of the bag.
These chicken breasts are quite big, I had 5 in my bag but my mum said she has brought them before and sometimes she'll get 4 massives ones but has had 6 smaller chicken breasts before so it's deffo done by weight and not by how many pieces you get in the bag.
They are YUMMY. I cooked ours in bbq sauce and they didn't taste any different to other chicken I've done the same recipe with, these have got a fresh chicken flavour and don't taste boring or like they have been stuffed full of water or anything. They took about 35 mins to cook through properly and that's about the same time as other chicken breasts, even the defrosting time isn't a problem because even if I'd brought and frozen some fresh chicken I would have still had to thaw them out before I cooked them.
I deffo recommend these chicken breasts, they aren't dry or anything after you've cooked them and even though they don't look all that brilliant when they're frozen they plump out nice when they've been in the oven. The flavour is nice as well and it didn't taste like cheap chicken like I was worried it was going to.
Another good thing is that the chicken breasts hadn't all stuck together in the bag so you can take one out at a time. I needed all 5 this time but they was loose in the bag and if I had only needed one then I wouldn't have had to defrost the whole lot.
Recommended..... cheap but mega tasty!!!
