I don't know why but I've been craving rabbit stew for ages now, I've only had it 2 times in about the last 5 years so when I was doing an online order for Tesco I ordered a pack of this diced rabbit from Gressingham. They don't sell rabbit in many places round here but if you go to the market in town you can buy a whole rabbit for £3.00, that's brill value but it actually is half a rabbit! It's been gutted and stuff but the little legs are still on the front and you can tell the rabbit has just been cleavered in half through the middle! lol

This one is ready to go and it's £3.00 as well but there obviously isn't as much weight in it as in the whole one so it works out more expensive. The pack weighs 226g but you seem to get a lot of meat for that and it fed 4 of us in a stew.

There's hardly any fat on this rabbit and you can tell it's dead fresh, the rabbit is all cut up good so as soon as you open the pack it's ready to put into the stew. Thats good because the rabbits from the market have to be rinsed for ages because there's LOADS of blood still coming out of it.

I did mine in a slow cooker for about 8 hours and it was delish when it was cooked. The meat was proper tender and had started going a bit stringy on the edges, rabbit is a bit like a cross between pork and turkey and it's got a wicked flavour. This one is proper juicy and tasted fresh in the stew.

You could use this in a rabbit pie as well I reckon, i've had rabbit pie but NEVER cooked one so I don't know how you'd go about it but it's got a texture that would go proper nice with a yummy soft pastry.

Recommended... not something I eat all that often but delish and I'll deffo buy more!!!
