I've only eaten Morrisons Chicken and Mushroom Pie's once - and I have to say that once was probably more than enough for one lifetime! It is fresh (as in not frozen) and takes about 20 minutes in the oven to get the pastry to be a golden brown.

From appearances, the pie, once cooked looks okay.....not fabulous.....but okay. The pastry is golden brown and looks flaky as puff pastry should be. The top is latticed like many of these type of pies tends to be - and it is deep enough to look a decent size. It's a decent size for an individual portion although if you were having it for a meal you would need to bulk it up with vegetables or potatoes as it wouldn't fill you enough for one meal - even if you could get past the deliciously cardboard flavour!

The most important thing about the pie is obviously the flavour. The pastry is actually not too bad as long as you don't mind your pastry not being particularly crispy. It's not that it's sloppy or soggy, but it is certainly not crispy or crunchy. It is a bit think and I could do with the pastry being a little thinner, particularly at the edges where it is really thick. However, the flavour of the filling is really not good at all. There is very little chicken in it and very little mushroom - and the majority of it is made up of a white sauce which is not very nice at all. The sauce is pretty tasteless and gloopy without any substance. The chicken is in such small chunks that it really doesn't feel like there is any chicken in it at all. I really just didn't like the taste or the gloopiness of the filling at all.

This was not a good pie at all and I cannot recommend it!
