Advantages: For low budget families may be suitable.
Disadvantages: No taste of minced fish.
I was shopping at Sainsbury's recently and saw these fish fingers and I thought I would give them a try for myself to see if I liked them as they were only 69p for 10 fish fingers and sometimes the packaging is very basic but the contents can be quite tasty and so I thought I would not be put off by the box and see for myself how the inside tasted.
They come in a basic box from the Sainsbury's basic range of products and the usual colours of Orange and White and inside there are 10 rectangle shaped fingers and they are covered in breadcrumbs and looked quite thin in my opinion, and so I grilled them and placed them on a plate to eat and they did not keep their shape very well, they were all sunken in the middle and not at all raised and they did not look very appetising in my opinion.
In my opinion they are too soft and are very bland and they are just mush and the fish or supposed fish was a thin layer of rubbery fish, the fish inside is supposed to be minced Pollock as it states on the box but I do not think it was minced of any fish at all and was just a very thin slice, I prefer my fish fingers with nice soft flakes of fish but with these they are just a slice of dark coloured fish with no taste at all.
They are very dry in my opinion, I although I tried one, I just could not eat anymore as they were not to my taste at all, they are very cheaply made and very poor quality but that is just my opinion.
The thickness is very thin and the colour is not attractive, although the breadcrumbs are orange in colour they look a little dirty orange in my opinion.
Per finger they contain, 92 calories, 3.8g fat, and 0.36g of salt.
I would not recommend these fish fingers as I think they are very bland and have no taste of fish at all and I will not be buying them again but lots of other basic branded foods can be very nice tasting but with this one, it was not but that is just in my opinion, other people may find them fine and it is always best to try out different products as we all have different taste buds and what suits one person, may not suit another.
I rate them a 1 star.
Thank you for reading my review.
Summary: Cheap product.
