“ Brand: Sainsbury's / Type: Ready Meal „
Before I had my son (and when he was little, whilst i was on maternity leave) I used to have the time to cook loads of things from scratch. However since returning to work there just does not seem to be enough hours in the day. My son is usually at my mums or a friends who sort his dinner out for him, So when i get home from a hard evenings work i want something quick, tasty and easy to cook.
I first came across these tins through my partner, who bought them 'because they were on offer'. I was sceptical at first as im not really a big fan of tinned meals. However just one tin (with a little rice) was plaenty enough for both me and my partner as a meal.
This product really impressed me, there is so much flavour, it tastes like it has been made up from scratch. With tinned meals i tend to be sceptical because they state they contain x amount of meat pieces and ususally you are lucky if you get two or three, with this product, well the tin is practically bursting.
The product also contains soices and for added sweetness raisens, which really bring out the flavour of the curry.
Sainsburys also have a very clear energy break down, and nutritional guide. This product is not particuarly healthty, however it serves as a cheaper alternative to a curry from the local take-away, which is handy considering todays climate, especially for those who like to have a treat, and are watching the the pennies
Although I initially made this as a meal i have been experimenting of late, and this mix tastes absolutley gorgeous in a home made pasty. (Which you can freeze and then cook at a later date)
This product i would personally aim at students, its quick and easy. However this product would be ideal in anybodies cupboard,as a quick snack or even as part of a main meal.
Sorry I do not know how much they were, (possibly about 30p per can) But they are availiable in sainsburys.
