A Delish Alternative To A Whole Turkey

Being as Xmas is nearly here my mum has gone mad like she does every year!!! I've already eaten so much turkey that I can't wait to get Xmas dinner over and done with, but the best one she's brought so far this year is this frozen Stuffed Butter Basted Turkey Breast Joint from Tesco. It takes just over 2 hours to cook from frozen but you can also defrost it and that will make the cooking time 1 hour 15 mins, seems stupid to me though because the breast takes hours to defrost just to save 50 mins on the cooking time! lol We had ours for tea last night and it was yummy. The turkey breast has had water added to it but you can't tell that by the taste, it's just normal roast turkey in flavour and is mega moist with a perfect texture when it's cooked. The turkey has got a delish buttery flavour and even the skin looks like it's cooked perfectly, I say looks because I HATE turkey skin so didn't try any but it deffo looked crispy and golden. My dad who loves fat of any kind said it was as good as the skin on a full turkey, but like I said he'd eat semi raw pork fat so his is probably not the best recommendation! lol The stuffing is proper nice. It's made with sausagemeat and I think it's just as good as homemade stuffing, the sage and onion flavours are there but the main taste is the sausagemeat and that also flavours the turkey that surrounds the stufffing. The joint is mega easy to carve, the knife I used wasn't particularly sharp but it went through the turkey good and let me carve thin and professional looking slices. I love how well the stuffing stays together because it didn't crumble all over the place while I was cutting the joint and the meat looked brill arranged on the plate because of this. The joint is 800g and is all edible because there is no bone in it, I reckon it would do perfect if you're having a small Xmas because it served 4 of us no problem last night and there's still a bit left in the fridge for a sandwich. The turkey isn't dry at all and has cooked perfectly in the time stated on the box, I think it tastes every bit as good as a whole turkey and the joint only cost £5.00 so that was a mega bargain I reckon!
