A Wicked Salmon Meal That Everyone Will Love

Last night we had a yummy tea, my mum had brought one of these Wild Salmon Sides from Tesco and while she was in there she noticed that she could buy 2 of them for £9.00 so she did that. We've kept one for Boxing Day and had the other last night with some noodles and potato skins. The Salmon Side is 700g and is supposed to serve 4 - 6 people, I reckon if you're having it as a meal then it would only serve 4 but if you was going to put it out as part of a buffet then people would obviously have smaller slices and it would go further. The salmon only takes a few minutes to cook and as soon as it starts getting warm you can smell the fresh fishy smell that always comes off salmon. It's in a lemon and thyme butter, while it's cooking you can sort of smell the lemon but the thyme doesn't come through at all until you put the fish on a plate and then it starts smelling lovely and herby. If you follow the cooking instructions on the box then the fish will cook through perfect. It cuts like butter and the salmon has got a perfect flakey texture, it looks and smells proper fresh and I reckon you could easily con people into thinking this is a fresh side of salmon and not a frozen Tesco product!!! The butter is just right and it doesn't make the fish greasy at all, the lemon brings out the delish salmon flavour and I think the thyme seasons it good even though I can't actually taste it specifically. All of the flavours are just perfect for each other and you can taste how good the lemony butter has been blended. I think the butter makes the salmon a bit moister than it would be otherwise because salmon is quite dry to eat usually, I like the fact that the butter hasn't got a very strong flavour too because it doesn't spoil the yummy salmon taste. I deffo recommend you buy this as part of your Xmas shopping. For £5.00 I think it's a mega bargain, especially when you think that 2 fillets of fresh salmon in Sainsburys can come to nearly that in price and here you're getting a whole side that will feed a few of you. It's on the 2 for £9.00 offer until the end of December so you can buy a couple and have one for Xmas and the other for New Year if you like.
