      Bacon Butties!!!

This Discounter Back Bacon was a cheeky substitute Tesco did last week, we ordered a pack of their own brand bacon because we know that's proper nice but they slipped this in. It's not bad tasting but it burns dead quick on the fat and we use a george foreman so it's hard to control how fast the fat cooks.

You get 8 slices and the fat isn't all that thick on them, at the end it is but that bit crisps up nice instead of burning and that makes it yummy! The slices of bacon are the same thickness as other bacon, it's the same as the Tesco bacon but 20p dearer! lol

The bacon has got a yummy smokey flavour, it's quite strong and you can start smelling it as soon as you start cutting the pack open. It tastes proper meaty and has got a wicked texture when it's cooked, the only issue for me is the way the fat burns so quick because I love it well done but you can actually taste the charcoal sometimes in the bacon! lol

I had mine on a butty with ketchup and it was yummy, I reckon it would go wicked on a bagel as well with salad and mayo. Delish! It doesn't take long to cook and the flavour comes through nice and strong, it's not as good as Walls smoked bacon but it still proper tasty.

I don't think it's any different to Tesco own brand smoked bacon but like I said it's more expensive. I don't like the way the fat burns because one minute it's raw and the next minute it's cremated, not NICE burned either just burned like the heat has killed it!!! lol

It shrivels up a bit as well when it's cooking, I did mine in the george foreman and under the normal grill and both ways made the bacon shrink down big time. The fat didn't burn as much under the gas grill but it still happened and I thought the meat did better in the george forman actualy.

Recommended... but only when Tesco own brand smoked bacon isn't in stock because it's exactly the same!!!
