Even Better Than The Chippy My Little Sister Reckons!

The other night I was supposed to be going out but my 2 year old sister banged her head and had to go to the childrens hospital, I cancelled my night out to sit at home with my other sister because my dad was at work and she's too hyper to sit in the hospital on a MEGA busy Friday evening. We went to do a bit of shopping and she was a bit gutted because in a way it was her fault our sister had got hurt so I said she could have whatever she wanted for tea so she would cheer up. She shocked the head off me when she asked for fish..... that's not the shocking bit.... she asked for plain fish with no batter! lol

Yeah, I fancied a bit of fish as well so thought stuff it I'll get the best I can find! There wasn't much choice on the fish counter and most of it was a reduced and a bit grungy looking so we went and had a look at the frozen fish because I remembered noticing before that Tesco Finest do some nice looking frozen fish. When we got there I saw the pack I wanted straight away, these Finest Icelandic Cod Fillets was £3.59 for 2 fillets and looked delish on the pack so they went straight into my trolley.

They are best cooked from frozen and can be nuked, oven cooked, fried or grilled. I did ours in the oven because I was cooked some new potatoes in butter and they take about the same time, I reckon this fish would have been delish fried in some spices though.

When it was done the fish was GORGEOUS. Even though it was frozen fish it tasted perfect and just like fresh cod after it had been cooked. The fillets are 150g and dead chunky, there wasn't any thin ends on them to dry up or anything like that and all the fish was lovely and moist with a proper nice fresh flavour. It flaked lovely but was dead meaty so that you could actually cut the fish into chunks to put in your mouth.

We had ours with the buttery new potatoes and a bit of a salad, I had a bit of tartare sauce on mine just to liven it up a bit and that went wicked with the taste of the fish. My sister said it was even better than the fish from the chippy and that's saying something because she's only 10 so SHOULD prefer the greasy battered cod that she gets with chips and curry sauce! lol

Recommended..... don't let the price put you off because this is DELISH!!!
