They slice well or can be roughly chopped depending on what you are doing with them. These sausages have a deliciously spicy taste and a great thick and meaty texture. Tesco Ingredients Cooking Chorizo Sausages Description: Manufacturer: Tesco / Type: Meat. I am a massive fan of chorizo sausage and have tried quite a few brands. Having said that, since I discovered these cooking sausages from the Tesco Ingredients range, I have stopped buying the dried variety and now, always use this for my recipes. These sausages differ from the dried variety in that they are not cured and they do have to be cooked like normal sausages. I use the grill to do this which helps to drain away any excess oils but they can also be oven cooked or simply added to recipes. I discovered these sausages about two years ago and haven't looked back since. Until I spotted these in the cold meats section of the supermarket we'd been using the normal dried chorizo in cooking (for example in paella, italian stews, etc) but the dried chorizo goes quite hard when you add it to some dishes and cook it again. It adds flavour but no one wants to have chewy, hard lumps in their paella. These couldn't be different - they stay beautifully soft and tasty, whilst adding loads of spicy flavour to whatever dish is being cooked. Chorizo is one of those food items that seems to be enjoying increased popularity if menus in restaurants, celebrity chef recipes and even crisp flavours are anything to go by. Certainly it is something that in my family we have only started eating and enjoying over the last couple of years, and only very recently has this cooking chorizo been available from Tesco.
