These Crispy Chilli Prawns are made by Tesco using the recipe from Ken Hom, I brought them at the same time as the Ken Hom Prawn Toasts and they have both been wicked and mega authentic products.
They are large prawns that have been coated in a very thin batter, you cook them in the oven for about 15 mins and they are delish eaten as quick as poss out of the oven because the flavours are so strong.
I love how juicy the prawns are when you're eating them and they've got a wickedly fresh flavour. The batter goes soooo nice with the prawns, it's light and kinda dry but kinda moist at the same time, that doesn't make sense but you've got to try these prawns to get the picture.
You also get a dip with the prawns which you have to put in the oven when the prawns are nearly cooked just to warm it through. The dip is a bit spicey for me because it's got a hot chilli taste but if you just put a prawn lightly into the dip it's ok because then a fruity taste comes through, don't overload your prawn though or you'll burn your gob! lol
Over all I think the prawns AND dip are wicked and well worth the £3.00 I paid for them, that might sound dear but you get loads of prawns and they are so yummy that you won't want to stop eating them. I had mine with some noodles for a proper Chinese taste and they were delish, they'd go nice with salad as well I reckon or even chips if you're desperate! lol
I've made my mouth water eating these and know we've not nothing half as good in as these prawns so I think I'll go to bed now and dream about them!
