Advantages: The same as any other corned beef but cheaper!
Disadvantages: None
My mum normally buys corned beef from the deli in Tesco but she is on some challenge on a website to slash her shopping bills. One night me and her sat down with the laptop and her latest shopping bills to see where she could make changes without the food we eat suffering.
One of the things she saw straight away was that cooked meat from the deli is loads dearer than in the packets and corned beef in particular is mega expensive off the deli. Her last purchase of it cost £2.26 and she said she got about 6 slices for that, we looked online and if you buy Tesco Value corned beef it's less than £1.00 for 8 slices.
It's good for that money as well. Corned beef is always proper fatty and I don't think this one tastes any fattier than other corned beef. It's paler in colour and doesn't look as meaty but your gonna eat it not look at it!
I have mine in a butty with brown sauce and I can't see the difference with this and another corned beef. The slices are the right thickness and 2 is just right for a nice sandwich. The last pack I made a corned beef hash out of when it was my turn to cook and it come out wicked.
I don't know why people pay stupid money for corned beef when you can buy it this cheap and it's just the same as a pack that costs a load more! The only difference I think is that the corned beef in this Value pack is saltier than the one off the deli, you can only tell when you eat a slice on it's own straight from the pack and can't taste extra salt when you have it hot or on a butty.
Summary: It's Just Corned Beef But Cheaper!
