Advantages: Affordable.Dolphin Friendly.Tastes nice.Good Texture.

Disadvantages: Tin isn't the best looking but to keep pannies in my pocket I don't care.

Price and Availability
These tins of tuna are unsurprisingly available from Tesco. You can get them online and in most size stores that stock tinned tuna products. At the time of writing a 185g tin of Tesco Value Tuna Chunks will set you back 54p. This in my opinion is a great price as tinned tuna seems to be getting more expensive. As a point of comparison at the time of writing a Princes multi-pack of 4 185g tins of tuna is on offer at £4.00, equating to £1.00 a tin so branded tuna is coming in at least double the price of this Tesco Value product.

Packaging
This product comes in a tin without a ring pull, meaning you will need a tin opener to get into it. This personally isn't an issue for me. This tuna drains just as messily as other tuna's in brine and is dolphin friendly so in this respect it is on par with other products twice it's price. It comes in the signature red, white and blue value packaging. Not a problem for me but food snobs may not like it on show (I'm talking to you mum!). The label contains all the general food information and the nutritional values are the same as any other tinned tuna. It also has a good shelf life of around two years so it's ideal for any impending apocalypse's.

Product.
None of the above information matters if the product isn't any good though...so is it? Yes. This tuna tastes exactly like all the other tinned tuna I have ever had. It looks the same, a nice pink colour. It tastes the same and it has a good texture. I have tried value tuna from other retailers and it has been mushy. I am pleased to say that this states 'chunks' and it's chunks you get. It flakes up lovely in a tuna mayo sandwich and I use it to make tuna burgers and fishcakes without any problems. It's an all round winner.

Summary: It's exactly the same as other tinned tuna products but half the price.
