While those that live a healthy lifestyle may insist that a fruit/yoghurt/cereal style breakfast is the best option, for many people such a basic morning meal lacks the necessary calories to keep them going throughout the day. For this reason as part of breakfast it's sometimes nice to have high protein meal such as sausages. A range of sausages to choose from can be purchased in the supermarkets. While sausages naturally are high in fat, most available consist of poor quality pork. However, unlike many of the cheap sausages out there from the various brands, thankfully Walls Thick Pork Sausages which come in a pack of 8, meet the minimum standard suitable ... My wife is very particular about her sausages and has decreed that we shall eat Walls sausages to the exclusion of all others. She is not a fan of the fancy funny flavour sausages, has not been persuaded by the 'back to the old days' of Richmond sausages advertising. Once she has made her mind up, it's hard to dissuade her and I have to largely do without experimenting with the myriad of new sausages which abound, unless I go my own way at meal times. Anyway, I like a good Walls sausage as well so I'll settle for the status quo for now. As I write this, I am waiting for our dinner to cook - we are having sausage and mash with carrots, cauliflower and mushroom ... Read the complete review

Yesterday it was a sunny but chilly day in Birmingham and after we watched the weather where it said we're going to have loads of rain next week we decided to have what will probably be our last bbq of the year. I went to Sainsburys and brought a load of goodies to bung on the bbq and in the finish I went so overboard that we ended up inviting our neighbours over to help us eat it all! Walls sausages are made of pork and are ideal for cooking on the bbq because they keep their shape well. These are the thick ones because I thought they would be better in a hot dog roll than the thinner sausages they do. When they're cooked I think these ... Read the complete review

Walls thick pork sausages can be found in the fresh meat section of almost any supermarket, and generally come in pack sizes of 8 and occasionally 12. The 12 are normally much better value, but they are not always available. The walls brand are often one of the more expensive brands of sausages, at around £2 for 8, however, you do know that you are getting good quality, every single pack I have ever had tastes exactly the same, and I have never found a piece of gristle, which has previously put me off of other brands. They are also on offer quite a lot, 2 for £2.50 and so on The texture of the sausages is very smooth, and easy to cut. They don't ... Read the complete review

Wall's thick sausages are available in the chiller section in Asda stores and cost £1.82 at present. The sausages are provided in a thick plastic wrapping and the top had to be cut open to reach the sausages, these are then in strings of two so it's nice to easy to just take out what you want and then pop the rest either in the fridge or in the freezer in a freezer bag. Wall's sausages can be cooked on the BBQ, in the oven, under the grill or on the hob. The sausages I ate were cooking under the grill and I'd recommend cooking them on a grill rack (as my other half did) as it helps all the fat to drain out of the sausages whilst cooking and be ...
