Advantages: Nice sausages
Disadvantages: Quite pricey if on a budget for just 8 sausages
I do like a nice bit of sausage whether it be in a sausasage casserole, on a fry up or wedged between bread and butter with tomatos and a blob of bbq sauce all over it and they are something that I buy quite regularly.
These Walls ones I didn't buy though myself and at £2.50 for just 8 of them I would buy myself cheaper ones as the norm however my Mother bought these for me with a few bits and bobs (bless her!) and I was pleased they were from a premium brand.
They simply come packed in a see through, dark and light blue pack and on the front of them we are clearly told what they re and who they are by on and that there are 8 of them provided in my pack and that they weigh 454g in total and then on the back of them other information listed includes the ingredients being given, allergy advice and a full nutritional chart is given and contact details for Walls are clearly stated.
What you get in a pack is of course 8 raw quite thick and squishy feeling sausages that of course are not suitable for Vegetarians and they are suitable for freezing should you want to do that with them.
You need to separate the sausages for cooking as they are all connected to eachother and each sausage gives you 136kcal and and 3.9g of saturated fat and that's only if you grill them so those values can change depending on what you do with them of course!
Me I have grilled these, fried them and popped them after frying them off in a sausage casserole for myself and I have to say I really do like the taste of these and the quality of them equally.
They don't take long to cook, however that depends person to person of course and how you like yours done but I find within 8-10 minutes grilling or frying is great and that I don't get very much fat out of them either way through the cooking process.
Each sausage is made from 61% pork which is a rather good meat content I'm sure you will agree for a sausage and the rest of the sausage is made up of pork fat and spices and so on. They look nice, the outer casing can be made to go crispy and they are a really meaty and filling sausage, not overly spiced but nicely seasoned and I have never found any gristle of fat bits in any of these sausages.
I really do like these and think that they are a great size, are quite thick compared to standard sausages and that they are worth that bit extra than I normally would pay though still I will continue to buy cheaper sausages for my casseroles as that's where I cant see much of a difference in what I would usually use cos its all so slow cooked!
A great buy and these are available from all good supermarkets etc.
