Advantages: Great flavours., doesnt taste like a low calorie meal

Disadvantages: Still a little microwave cooked taste to it

After taking a break from Weight Watchers for 4 months I had noticed that my weight was slowly creeping back up and I wasnt happy so joined Weight Watchers again to try and shift some of my unwanted fluffiness. I never tried the Weight Watcher meals before because we would always sit down together as a family and everyone ate the same as me however with my partner starting a new job and the children at school i decided to give them a shot and i was not dissapointed with my purchase.
I brought them from Iceland at £1.00 each, other products are a little more expensive. I stocked my freezer full including the Tomatoe and basil chicken.

One the box it shows you the picture of the meal once cooked and that it is made not only by Weight Watchers but also Heinz. The points are on the box however it is by the old pointing system not the new (ish) propoints so you would have to recalculate the points. It works out at 7 propoints for the full meal which is really good and it also tells you the amount of calories in the meal, however with Weight Watchers you dont normally check the calories, you mostly look at the back for the rest of the information.

It is very easy to prepare the meal, you simply take it out of the box, pierce a few holes in the celofane cover and place in the microwave for around 8 minutes in total and leaving it to stand for 1 minute. You can also cook them in the oven aswell, you would have to look at the cooking guide lines for that as i have never managed to cook it in the oven. Whilst cooking you can really smell the Tomato and basil more that anything else. The wedges have to smell to them at all however they are very nice and soft. The chicken pieces are a little small but when you are following Weight Watchers everything seems small to begin with, a few weeks into the plan and you look at it as a perfect meal. You get roughly around 3 to 4 pieces in the meal and around a handful of wedges which is quite a lot for a meal of 7 propoints.
I wouldnt have this meal on its own expecting it to be enough for me and to keep me full until either my next meal or the following morning. I tend to add steamed vegatables with it and it is alot nicer and more filling. I have also had some of the Weight Watchers garlic bread with it and it was beautiful.
The great thing about this meal is that it doesnt taste like a low calorie meal, it is packed with flavour, the chicken is lovely and moist and the wedges have their own distinctive taste to them which really brings out all the flavours.
I would recommend this meal to people who are watching what they eat and are following a diet as it doesnt feel like you are cutting anything out with it, you feel like it is a normal ready meal. Although you can not get rid of the ready meal (microwave) taste it still does taste very nice indeed.
I would suggest you shop around for them though, i have seen them alot in Asda and Iceland on offer for around the £1.00 mark, they are also sold in Heron for the same price but i have also seen them in other stores from £1.25 and upwards so please shop around to make sure you get the best deals on them

Summary: Brilliant and cheap when you know where to shop
