Advantages: Good range of books

Disadvantages: Some wacko stuff mixed in

This is one of the better targeted book clubs currently in existence, if a little over ambitious - it does attempt to cover all but the last 500 years of human history after all!

After joining, you receive a catalogue each month. Your only committment is to buy three books in the first year, after which time you can keep taking the catalogue with no conditions, which is my prefered method - I'm well past my compulsary purchases, but am still going.

The range of books on offer is good, including good popular works and some very academic volumes. There is also a 'bookshelf' page with standard references. Price-wise, the academic books are much cheaper here than from other sources, although for normal books the prices are about normal. Delivery is reasonable - I've never had an order not turn up in full, although sometimes not quickly. The only problem I have is that they also see the worst sort of unhistorical rubbish - the secret masters of the work, secrets of the Templers, Pyramids built by aliens fringe of the market, and by putting them in the same catalogue as proper history the rubbish gains credability it does not deserve. Otherwise, good choice, good prices, and reliable delivery.
