Independent record store with a lot to offer.

Browsing a record store for that gem you've been seeking for yonkes, is possibly just as much fun as hiding Bono's glasses would be.
Banquet Records is an independent record store in Kingston upon Thames. With a large range of genres, from Dance and Dub Step, to Indie and Post Punk, the shop has something for everyone, on vinyl and CD.
The shop also hosts and indie and alternative club night in Kingston's Hippodrome, which was formally called The Works. Despite this venues bad reputation, which it earned under is former title, Banquet's club night, New Slang, is fantastic. It takes place every Thursday, and each week bands such as the likes of Mystery Jets, The Walkmen, and The King Blues perform. Entrance is a mere £4.
The record shop also hold free instores, as well as puts on and emo/hardcore night Kingston's intimate venue, Bacchus, if indie and brit-pop isn't your idea of a good night out.
It's a same that the store only has a meager selection of old vinyl. I did once find a set of The Smith's 7" singles, but priced at £5 each.
Despite this, I still love Banquet Records.
