Advantages: Good selection, dicount from RRP
Disadvantages: Easily tempted
The Book People are are company who have self-employed traders working for them, a bit like Avon or Betterware in that they are commission based and they sell products to members of the public.
I'd not heard of the Book People until they came into the place I work one day, and they had a few tables of books, all new, at discounted prices.
It seems they come into my place of work each month, this month I purchased The World of Peter Rabbit as a gift for a friend's little one who is soon to be Christened, for £30 which is a set of 23 books normally retailing for £140.
They usually have a good selection from young childrens books to teenage books as well as adult fiction and non-fiction, cookery books are usually a favourite of mine. All of the books are dicounted from the RRP.
The man who comes to sell in my workplace is always friendly (but he would be I guess as he probably makes a fortune by the number of people that work in our office!). They also take payments by card so it's easy to buy more than you wanted to.
I recently discovered that you can also order from the Book People online, although i've not used this yet I may do towards Christmas time. If you do use their online store they offer cashback through Quidco.
Summary: Bag yourself a bargain book from the Book People
