Book Shops in Colchester

I used to go to Colchester on a fairly regular basis, but with the recession really kicking in it seems to have closed a lot of the shops down, as well (I have ranted on about this before I know!) as the price of parking your car is absolutely unbelievable. With the price of petrol and parking I feel that a lot of people in the Essex area tend to shop at the outlets like Lakeside and Freeport as the parking is free all day long for as long as you want. I lived in Colchester for about twelve years and on the whole, shopping is very good but for one thing...books! There are a few smaller book shops which cover the usual but on the whole the selection is not very good at all. I am in to computer literature (sado, I hear you cry!) and I find it increasingly difficult to buy them. I went to America last summer and I went to a book shop there. It was amazing, it had a whole floor of computer books and every other book you can think of. The prices as well were thesame amount in dollars as they were in pounds.
