They are very competitive compared to every other bookshop on price, especially when you're talking about current bestsellers and magazines. They tend to sell new books and novels as "loss leaders" in order to entice the students from Trinity College (just across the road) into the shop in the hope they will buy their textbooks and stationary supplies, and their choice of books would be nowhere as comprehensive as either Waterstones or Hodges Figgis. You're spoiled for choice when it comes to good bookshops here in Dublin. By far the best place to start is around the Dawson Street/Nassau Street area, just of St. Stephen's Green in the city centre, where three of the city's best bookstores are located all within spitting distance of each other. On Dawson Street you have Waterstones and Hodges Figgis. These stores are right across the street from each other, and so are constantly competing for readers' business.
