Advantages: Allowing you to trade in your old music/films

CD Warehouse was a music retailer located in Watford, Hertfordshire which was part of a small national chain. It went down the same road as retailers such as MVC, Our Price & more recently Zavvi, closing it's doors a few years ago following the decline in the purchase of physical music.

As well as selling music, it also sold films & a small selection of console games. Although new CDs & DVDs could be purchased in store, the store specialised in pre-owned products. As a result, shoppers could also bring in their old CDs or DVDs to trade in either for case or getting slightly more for a credit note or buying something else in return.

The thing I liked about the store was they actually offered you a fairly decent amount for your old items & it also depended on what condition these items were on. Also the staff always tended to be quite friendly offering a good level of service.

I've not heard much about this company in the last few years & suspect that the whole chain has probably gone bust now. This is a real shame as it reduces the amount of competition in the market.
