When I was looking on the My Points (a reward scheme – for more see my opinion!) and I saw this site. You could get five books with 75% off, a free book and 500 points for My Points. I signed up immediately, really pleased with my offer that I had found on this site.

I was looking through the choices that they had and I was very impressed – well over 100 books to choose from. All with 75% off! When you start to pick your books you can pick up to 5 books (no more, but less). I took advantage and got 5 books. They were 2 Who Wants To Be A Millionaire (one choice), Sidney Sheldon – The Sky Is Falling, Stephen King – Dreamcatcher, Candace Bushnell – 4 Blondes, Jeffery Deaver – Manhattan Is My Beat and John Grisham – Painted House (the free book). When you buy over 3 books you free postage and packaging – very unusual for a BFC book club. I put in my order and it came to a total of £16.99 for 7 books, very good I thought. The other great thing was that I only had to buy one more book. Again very unusual for a BFC book club! I got a confirmation email back to say it was all-ok and the order had been processed. EXCELLENT!

Then the problems started happening, I received my books 4 weeks late! All the while I didn’t get them that the order hadn’t been processed, but to my surprise they arrived, with a ‘messily’ note saying “Sorry your books are late we have been updating our computer system”. I thought that this would have been better in the long run for me so I didn’t say or do anything. I had to pay the bill and while I was doing it I ordered a book. I phoned up the club and said that I had to pay the bill and order a book, immediately I got a reply (very rudely) “The order first”. I was shocked and so I did it and then I gave him all my card details and he said that they did not accept my card, but then he changed his mind and put me onto this other ope
rator who said that she would send me a receipt and I would have to sign it and send it back. I got nothing. I waited 4 weeks and still got nothing. During these four weeks I placed another order for my Mum who anted some books for Christmas. I also got the opportunity to get a free calendar as I spent over £15. I did this all in October and as November got to the middle I paid the bill by cheque (I was angry). I then still didn’t get any books through. I was even guaranteed my books coming through for Christmas (the guarantee ran up until December the 18th when they would still send you the books!)

December 23rd and only half of my book order arrives (late). There is no calendar. I didn’t receive the rest of the books until way after Christmas. This meant my Mum didn’t have all of her Christmas presents for people! I was outraged, so after Christmas I phoned up and I had to wait half and hour to get through and when I did get through I got a moody response. I thought this was out of order and so I got very up tight. She was moody and horrible. I told her about the problems and she said that she would send me a pre-paid slip to send the books back, (I didn’t even have the books) as the guarantee had been broken. I was very angry as I came off the phone, as she was very moody and grumpy. I asked her how much I owed and she said that I had to pay £9.99 for the book, which did have 75% off and should have only cost £4.25!

January 12th I have now received my books, I did get my pre-paid slip and I’m waiting to send them back. I’m outraged by their service. It’s terrible –

· Over charged
· Late books (three times)
· Grumpy operators
· No freebie thing (calander) in my order, that was supposed to come with the order

This book club is trouble. It is a terrible service and for the 75% idea, there are no more than 5 books on offer with that 75% off. This book club must be shut d
own, do not join up or be prepared to be robbed of your money!!
