Belfast is where I usually shop for my music. Lisburn, where I live isn’t really up to much, with only a Woolworth’s to really speak of – the other music shops are too mainstream with very high prices. If I have a bit of time to spend, I’ll pop into Belfast and have a hunt around these shops. Belfast has all three of the big entertainment stores – Virgin, HMV and Our Price, all situated on, or in HMV’s case just off, Royal Avenue, Belfast’s main shopping street. Matchetts is probably my favorite of all the music shops in Belfast. They have two shops on Wellington Place in Belfast. They are both within about a minutes walk of each other but they supply different products. One shop supplies a lot of sheet music for all instruments along with key boards, acoustic guitars, woodwind and many others. The other is the rock shop. It specialises mainly in guitars and amplifiers. However they also sell drums and recording equipment. They also sell all the accessories including guitar tablature.
