Just after this, my piano teacher told me of a new shop, Alleggro Music, where I could purchase sheet music. I hapily used this service for months, until it too packed up and moved elsewhere. I now have to order music from further away at a higher price. There are still specialist shops such as the PMT,(professional music technology) which stocks everthing neccesary for drum, electric guitar and base guitar players. One would think that Birmingham, a busy 2nd city would have loads of music shops but this is not the case. Surely, with the large population and number of people that play musical instrument there would be a large enough target market to open more music shops. For the past 5 years however, the music shops Birmingham does have are relocating away. The music shop near me seemed to be doeing well, midlands music, and sold sheet music, books, instrument accessories ie. violin strings and tuition in the building next door, but alas, it packed up and moved to spain.
