This store on middle abbey street in Dublin relocated from across the road about 2 years ago. The move did downsize the music section a little but it remains an invaluable outlet for music lovers throughout the city. Chapters is really three stores in one. In the basement they sell second-hand books where you can find anything from best sellers to schoolbooks. They also have a huge selection of 3rd level books. Chapters have a policy of buying and selling and promise to pay the highest rates available to would be sellers. The ground floor is also taken up with books. Well, I guess this HMV's just like any other worldwide, but I thought I might as well start the ball rolling on music shops here. So HMV is a lot better than it used to be. When Tower Records opened up on Wicklow St., nearby to Grafton St., it was by far the better shop, trouncing HMV and Virgin for both choice and price. Of course, back in those dark days, Dublin wasn't the best for music shopping - not if you wanted something that wasn't in the Top 20, anyway. So HMV was visibly struggling for a long time, but seems to have found its feet again.
