Music And Video Exchange (Soho):
... Music and Video Exchange is a chain of stores specialising in laboriously scrutinised second-hand CDs, records, and DVDs. Living on the Isle of Dogs, we had been to the Greenwich location several times before, buying literally dozens of second-hand DVDs from them... Intoxica ... is a second hand record shop on Portobello Road near Notting Hill Gate in West London. The area is not short of a record shop or 2 with numerous within walking distance dealing with both second hand and new records and CD s. Of them all, Intoxica is probably the best for those hard-to-find items with a good across the board selection. The store mainly deals with what some may regard as older genres of music and within this have vast selections of everything from psychedelia through to pre-war blues via surf rock, easy listening, funk, punk rock and everything in between. They only really sell vinyl formats, both LP s and 7" singles being well catered for ... Read the full review: Obscure Krautrock Anyone? by nilo0901 |

HMV ... and Virgin Megastores used to really compete on the High Street for the home entertainment market and then Virgin were sold and became Zavvi and when bust. HMV is now the premier high street home entertainment brand, no matter where you live in the UK, you will always find an HMV, from tiny stores with cd s a few dvd s and games to the might HMV megastore on Oxford Street in London which is three floors of entertainment. I am going to review HMV on Oxford Street as I think it shows the best example of what the brand has to offer. The store is set centrally in a perfect location for London, the ground floor is where all the most popular items are sold, so all popula... Music And Video Exchange (Notting Hill) ... is a vast chain of shops that buys and sells second hand just about anything but the biggest would be music. They have stores all a few doors from one another devoted to Rock & Pop, Soul & Dance, Classical and Stage and Screen. Around the corner are shops selling clothing, books, magazines, comics, electronics, homeware... just about everything. This place is a goldmine and you could get lost here for hours. First thing to say is that it s a buyers paradise. If you re looking to sell for big bucks you re better off trying to do it individually on an auction site because you won t get much. Fair enough, as they need to make money too. The way it works is tha... Read the full review: Buyers Paradise by nilo0901 |
