Virgin MegastoreNewest Review: ... (not at all as good as HMV), returns police maybe not what you expect and perhaps unlawful in some cases. Remember when making a purchase consider what if I give the money for something that not is not in stock and it does not get delivered will this upset me? If it does not upset you find a good charity instead! if it will, then do not allow delivery and inspect you purchase for evidence it has been returned (some else returned it for a reason if that's the case). If still satisfied then using a credit card will give you payment protection. Observe returns policy it may involve keeping packaging etc a think what that means, p... more |

Staff and management need better training (that must reflect on the executives). Stock maybe low quality in some cases (could be a return, or a second), selection is restricted (not at all as good as HMV), returns police maybe not what you expect and perhaps unlawful in some cases. Zavvi renamed from Virgin MegaStore, no doubt because it damages the Virgin brand name. I have ordered DVD's from the Hastings branch in Priory Meadow to be delivered to my address (as they where not in stock), I never received or heard from this order again. I have asked Zavvi (Virgin Megastore) were they are but there staff unable to find the order, and claim that there is nothing they can do. Under empowered staff is a bit of a theme in the Virgin brand I note and I have found this on there Trains and Planes to (bad service and self obsessed staff). I would rather go to HMV and pay a bit more as you received it and have a new item not some returned item. However, ... Read the complete review

I can confirm what others have said in that zavvi send out second hand items as new. my bro ordered a NEW ps2 game, what they sent out looked like it had come from a car boot sale... no sorry, thats an insult to car boot sales.. this had a scratched cover and the disk was scratched. Customer service dont want to know, recommend you avoid.

Virgin Megastores (now called Zavvi in the UK) are an international chain of entertainment retailers started by Sir Richard Branson in London in 1971. They have stores in such countries as Jordan, France, Egypt and America. They mainly stock entertainment media and technology such as CD's, DVD's, MP3 players and computer games but also stock additional products like magazines, books, calendars and T-shirts. Some of the smaller stores don't have the full selection for sale and you'd have to go to a bigger one for some things. They always seem to play good music, not really stuff I would listen to a lot but it's alright in moderation. I guess you ... Read the complete review

Well I have to differ here. I ordered the Complete Laurel and Hardy Box Set at £49.99, down from £199. Within three days it was at my door and I was busy watching the films. All packed to perfection. This company has never personally let me down and they have a great tracking service on the website. Like most other things these days, it could be that the company has had a few bad instances or maybe gone through a patch, but they always came up with it when they were Virgin, and they have always continued to do well as Zavvi. So for me I have to say, a good store with fantastic discounts, worth every penny when you look at the prices compared to the infalted prices of ... Read the complete review
