Lost in 70's -- somewhere!! (WH Smith)

Disadvantages: Too small and expensive

When I was younger the first place I would go to for my records or books would be Whsmith but no more. Why? Well I think that they are far too expensive these days. I can get my cd's from the likes of Amazon or Play. Even the ds games for my children are far too expensive in my opinion. I also used to buy my birthday and christmas cards at Whsmiths but even those are far dearer than the likes of some card discount stores and supermarkets.

I have two Whsmiths within a few of miles of were I live. One is in Allerton Road and the other is in Speke Retail Park. The one in Allerton Road is quite small and compact. They always have plenty of stationary and a fair selection of magazines etc but you can hardly move in there. There is also very little parking outside.

In Speke with it being in a retail park there is plenty of parking. However the large shop they did have has just been split in half. I think a coffee shop has just taken the other half. Borders has also just opened closeby and their choice of books and magazines are far superior. I'm talking thousands. They also have chairs to sit and browse books.

I'm really sorry Smiths but your time has come and gone. You need to change quick before you go the same way as Woollies. You need to move with the times. You need a better selection. You need to do something to make your prices more competitive!!
